About this house rental
An old watermill has been transformed into a welcoming house by a small lake. All restoration work was carried out to preserve its rustic charm while providing comfort. The house is located in a beautiful, quiet rural area next to a lily-filled lagoon.
In addition to comfort and modern amenities, you will find a covered barbecue area and a private pool.
The house is easily accessible, just 12 km from the city of Póvoa de Varzim, its beaches, and the A28 motorway connecting Porto to Caminha. Barcelos is also 12 km away, and Apúlia beach is 5 km from the property.
There are many steps both inside and outside the house. The location is secluded, next to a lagoon with ducks, frogs, and various birds. You may hear typical countryside sounds like dogs, cats, and tractors, and experience usual rural scents. Charging electric cars or campervans is not allowed. Parties are not permitted. Please inform the host in advance if you wish to bring pets. Pets are allowed upon prior request and for an extra charge. The house water is not recommended for drinking. The pool is open all year. Heating is available from November to March.

First of all the host and communication was fabulous. Lots of very helpful local recommendations and friendly welcome. On the positive this is a quirky characterful property and is blessed with lots of bedrooms and bathrooms. It is in a very rural location as described which was nice. The BBQ outside is good and the gardens are well kept. We enjoyed our stay but the kitchen and cleanliness of the property let it down a bit. We like to cook and the kitchen needs modernisation. The oven was broken and the hob is old and works but not well. The main area needs a bit of a deep clean. A short drive gets you to lovely beaches and local restaurants. We recommend the Apúlia beach and Barcelos (parking is tricky there but a beautiful town).
