House with 3 independent rooms, located in a village 1.5 km from the village

This was an adorable place in a peaceful setting! The host greeted us with a bottle of wine which we appreciated while looking out at the beautiful countryside.

Michel and Mireille are delightful hosts. They were attentive to our needs while respecting our privacy. The setting was idyllic but the drive up to the gite is not for the faint hearted. It was peaceful, scenic and very hot (we were there during la canicule). We had problems though with the Internet connection (not something we have experienced in France before) which mattered because we needed to work online during the week. Michel did his best to remedy things and showed much concern. A workaround gave some access for me but my partner with an Apple machine never got online. Disappointing as we partly chose this gite because WiFi was specified.

I searched for months on many sites for the perfect place to enjoy southern Burgundy. My husband and I go to France often and have stayed in many gites but this one was our favorite ever! The hosts are lovely. They patiently answered my many questions before arrival and were always prompt, professional and very kind. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised to find the guesthouse was so much nicer than it appears in the photos. It was immaculately clean, with everything we could possibly need. I am a chef so I really enjoyed the well-equipped kitchen with it's stunning view over the Lamartine Valley. The owners were very discreet but available to recommend wonderful area restaurants, sights, markets, etc whenever we needed. It was the perfect location for exploring the area whether it was market day in Cluny, wine tasting in Pouilly Fuisse, hiking the beautiful countryside, or swimming in the lake just a couple of minutes from the house. There were many great restaurants nearby so we ate and drank well and each day came home to one of the most stunning views we've ever had (and we are serious view lovers!) When I was in search of Pigeon (Squab) to prepare, the owners sent me to the best butcher who special ordered them for me. We dined with the lovely view and enjoyed the wines we'd find each day. The price is such a bargain for this wonderful guesthouse. We could not believe what a deal it was and count it as one of the best values ever in our travels. We cannot wait to return, not only because this is one of the most beautiful areas of France but also to visit with the fun, interesting owners. They are great people and have thought of everything in designing, decorating and equipping the perfect gite. Thanks so much! Pamela and Jonathan, Boston USA
