I rated this villa 5 stars due to the amazing outdoor space with abundant birds monkeys and animals around. While enjoying the pool and outdoor space we consistently saw monkeys playing in the trees which was an amazing experience! There is another rental on the property that does share the grounds and pool area. The villa is quite large, we had our family of 5 (including 3 teens). The main living area is huge, including a full kitchen , dining table and different seating areas. I did not realize from the initial listing that this area doesn’t have air conditioning, it has screens on windows only. If you closed the window shutters to keep it cooler, you’d also be closing out the daily light, so that is a bit of a trade off.All three bedrooms are quite large, and have their own air conditioners that worked well. Because of this it made our group feel a bit disjointed as everyone seemed to retreat to the bedrooms versus enjoying the common living space. We loved cooling off in the pool, it was a great temperature and fairly deep. I was a bit surprised to be asked by the host, just after 6:30pm, to turn off the patio lights at the pool because it was bright and bothered the neighbors. Without those lights the pool area is minimally lit; it seemed odd to be asked not to use lights at a relatively early hour (there is a sign posted at the pool that requests silence at 10pm) . The driveway is very steep and hard to pull back onto with its angle and limited view.

The best part of our trip was close up of many animals while we were lazing in the pool in the evenings and once in the morning while having breakfast on the patio. There were all varieties of monkeys (squirrel, howler and white faced monkeys). The resident iguanas made their presence known every morning. The animal life at the house was abundant, may have seen more wildlife at the house than at the Manuel Antonio park. Sylvia was also very attentive and a gracious host. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay…even with our teens there!!! Definitely recommend!

This place worked well for our family (2 adult children and us). It was incredibly spacious. 1 note is that the 3 bedroom is detached - wouldn't work well for a toddler, but our 20 year old loved it.). The pool is shared with another VRBO but we only saw someone out there once. Clean and good location. Street down to the place is steep, but the place makes up for it. PLUS there was a roving gang of capuchin monkeys that enterntained us daily.

We recently spent 9 days at Villa La Foresta and had a mixed experience overall. The location is picturesque, the home itself is spacious, with a well-equipped kitchen and delightful outdoor seating. However, we encountered some challenges during our stay. Firstly, the steep driveway leading to the property ends abruptly in a dangerous T-intersection, requiring assistance from someone at the top of the hill to navigate safely. Additionally, the driveway's sharp incline caused scraping to the bottom of our sedan. While the bedrooms are air-conditioned as advertised, the lack of cooling in the central area and outdoor spaces, made it uncomfortable to utilize the common spaces, leading us to retreat to our rooms frequently. On a positive note, the owner was responsive to our inquiries and provided clear instructions on operating equipment, managing gate locks, and arranging for additional cleaning.
