Detached House with Private Pool in the Country in Monpazier, Périgord

Well appointed, clean property in a beautiful, secluded and quiet location.

Fantastic place in beautiful and peaceful surroundings nice and tidy with a beautiful pool and a nice and warm welcome

We stayed at the property with our young family (children aged 10, 8 and 5 years old) for a week in late August. We have stayed in the area a few times as we have friends in the area but finding this property has been a very pleasant discovery. It's been recently renovated/ built to a very very high standard throughout in early 2015. Everything is as you would want it for a high quality holiday let and the kitchen is fully appointed. It was immaculate throughout. It also has beautiful outside areas. There is a covered terrace overlooking the pool which again was of a very high standard (with pool alarm). There is a built in BBQ area and lots of outdoor furniture to dine or lounge on. The table tennis table was also a nice addition to while away the time. Whilst we were there the weather was very warm and the building stayed cool throughout the day with the pool consistently between 24-26 degrees/C which was nice and refreshing but not too cold for the children to spend long periods splashing about. Cecile was on hand when we arrived and was a great host. She answered a couple of queries and then left us to it before meeting us at the property at the end of our stay. She was very accommodating and helpful returning at one point on request with some towels. We would not fail to recommend the property to friends and we thought that it offered really good value for money considering such exacting standards. The house was within easy reach of Monpazier at approx 3km so a 5 min drive maximum. It's in a very peaceful setting and private too. We enjoyed exploring the river via canoe, the night market at Monflanquin and Monpazier itself. Another great location is the swimming lake at Lougratte. We look forward to returning some time soon.

Set in a lovely quiet location, but only a couple of miles away from Monpazier which has lots of local shops including several bakeries where we bought fresh croissants from each morning. The accomodation was pristine and decorated very tastefully, we didnt use the pool as the weather wasnt too warm, but if it had it would have been great at the end of a busy day sightseeing. The Gite is in a perfect location to explore the Dordogne region and we wouldnt hesitate in returning in the future.
