About this house rental
Located at the south end of Playa Guiones in Nosara in a new gated community/development called the Guiones Beach Club, the Rancho Paloma Azul home is perched on top of a small knoll that is 1110 square meters (approximately 1/3 acre) in size.
It has views of the Pacific Ocean, the surrounding hills and rain forest and is approximately 300 yards from the beach (about a four minute walk at most on a private, palm-lined trail). Because of its slight elevation, the property typically receives a nice ocean breeze.
This home can accommodate as few as two guests with bed space for as many as 22 and includes all of the following:
THE RANCHO:
A 18' x 24' indigenous open-air ''palapa'' style patio structure made of beautiful teak wood. This is the social hub of the home. It includes an open kitchen, bar counter top & stools and a large communal dining area along with open-air hammocks and lounge day beds and views to the beach. This building is immediately adjacent to the private swimming pool.
THE CABANA SUITES AND THE BUNK HOUSE:
Located on the 1st floor level are four (4) attached Cabana Suites, all of similar construction, each with its own 4-post queen size bed, private bathroom and porches with rocking chairs. Great for couples or for individual usage.
The building is a partial two-story structure with an upstairs master suite, called The Bunk House, equipped with a large bathroom. With three (3) full beds and two (2) twin bunk-style beds, The Bunk House can sleep up to a total eight people. Great for kids, teens and/or couple and individual usage.
Two surfboard racks for storage of up to 12 surfboards. Three outdoor showers, one by the pool for rinsing sandy feet and two others by the Cabana suites and surfboard rack, respectively.
All rooms are equipped with locked mini-bodegas and digital safes to safeguard your personal belongings.
THE SWIMMING POOL:
The pool is approximately 12' x 22', fully tiled with shallow and deep areas. Pool uses a salt water chlorine generator, so no harsh chemicals for eyes, skin and hair.
ADDITIONAL SLEEPING AREAS:
There are additional outdoor, covered sleeping areas in the second floor loft of the Rancho equipped with two (2) full beds and two (2) twin beds with mosquito netting and ceiling fans.
DEDICATED 24/7 SECURITY AND EXTERIOR PERIMETER CCTV MONITORING:
24/7 security for the home and guests is provided. Pool maintenance and gardening service included too. Property manager is available to assist guests during their stay, including making dinner reservations, activity booking and even grocery delivery.
HOUSECLEANING/MAID SERVICE:
Daily maid and cleaning service is included in the rental of this property from Monday through Saturday.
COOK/CHILD CARE:
Daily assistance with cooking and/or child-care is available upon request.
ON-PREMISE MASSEUSE OR YOGA:
Assistance with scheduling on-premise massage or yoga lessons.
BEACH STUFF: No surfboards provided but we supply beach towels, boogie boards, beach chairs and umbrellas, large and small ice chests and carts to haul your gear! Sunscreen not included.
ABOUT GUIONES BEACH CLUB: We have yet to locate the GBC clubhouse or any dues-paying members for that matter, but it is an exclusive, private gated community with a 24/7 guard house and security patrol, all underground utilities (unique in Nosara) and unbeatable proximity to Playa Guiones beach.

Our extended family of 13 greatly enjoyed two weeks during Christmas/New Years at Paloma Azul. Craig and Cristina were extremely helpful with everything -- shuttle vans, car reservations, response to myriad questions, and restaurant recommendations. This is a classic beach house: Five sleeping rooms are enclosed with AC while the living, dining and kitchen areas are open under a palapa. This arrangement supports people being together with little privacy except in the bedrooms — which is great for bringing together families!The open living area means that it's exposed to the surrounding wildlife at all times and especially at night -- meaning that raccoons are able to enter all aspects of the kitchen, even when food is securely put away, they will knock over glasses and bottled containers, climb on counter tops, and do what they'd like during the night time hours throughout the kitchen and living area. During the day, coati, iguanas and other wildlife freely roam throughout these areas as well. We had an issue with the AC in 2 of the 5 bedrooms, as they didn't work at full power during the day when the sun is the hottest. Still, the pool and nearby ocean (extremely beautiful beach at both low and high tide!) provide ample opportunity to cool off. We couldn't find the ocean view mentioned in the VRBO description, nor the boogie boards, so we had to buy our own. Also important to note that there isn't hot water or a dishwasher in the kitchen.Overall, our family enjoyed

Our stay was full of fun and surprises. Hanging out in the big outdoor living space and pool was nice in the warm weather or the rain. It was a short walk to the beach where the waves were great for all ages whether jumping the waves, boogie boarding or surfing. The beautiful sunsets were fun to catch before dinner. Dinner now that was the big treat. We had Siani and her daughter cook for all of us 3 delicious traditional Costa Rican dinners. Plus, the Pico and guacamole, yum we could not get enough of it. She is available on request. It was fun exploring Nosara especially by horse back. We found the area on the other side of the point was a good place to have an authentic lunch and a beer. Some had a blast ziplining even with little children, 7 and up. Loved the Hollar Monkeys... You will just have to come explore for yourself. We cannot go without sharing a fun surprise we cancelled the expensive holiday rental cars for the local shuttle through Craig for airport transport and local transport. The drivers were always early and flexible if we needed to stop for lunch. We loved all riding together over hill and dale unconcerned with navigation. Other than that, be sure to take out the garbage at night. There are racoons that would love to help themselves. What a beautiful experience we had. Craig and his team were spectacular with correspondence. The place is magical and gave us so much outside time as the kitchen, eating and relaxation areas are all outside yet covered! Sinai the housekeeper and brilliant cook provided us with wonderful meals. Just an overall wonderful experience.

This property and location was superior to any we have stayed in yet! It was clean,safe, beautiful, and more than we could have imagined. The people who took care of the property were friendly and helpful especially Melissa. Christopher and Jaime cooked for us amazing dinners and could not have been more friendly. The owner Craig and his wife were completely on top of things and so responsive to any questions we had. We would 100% recommend this property that is close to the beach, town, and anything fun u can think of
