About this castle / palace rental
In a wonderful setting of a medieval mountain village, a recently renewed and tastefully refurbished 17th century palazzo provides the possibility to large families or group of friends to experience a dream holiday in Italy. Here you can decide to spend your time all together while maintaining your own privacy.
The spaces are grand and spectacular: a total of 9 bedrooms, 3 living rooms, 4 well equipped kitchen can comfortable guest up to 22 people.
The 4X8X1,5 pool and a fenced private garden make the palazzo a great and safe place for your children in the Summer season. Pool season can vary from the weather conditions, but generally is from the end of April toward the half of October.
Although the palazzo is in the mountains, it can be easily reached by car, by train and by bus.
All outdoor activities like hiking, rafting, etc. are possible in the area. The very close distance to the sea meets the needs of the sea lover as well. We offer periodically creative workshops like painting, sculpturing, yoga. All the year through you can book cooking and wine courses as well as Italian lessons.

My family of 25 had the most amazing week at this historic, beautiful and spacious villa in Tavernelle. We loved that it was in a remote and lovely mountain setting, yet a close drive to many tourist attractions. The children were so happy to get back to the "castle" after a day of boating, swimming at the beach, climbing the Leaning Tower of Pisa, touring the marble quarry, and visiting Cinque Terra. With the hot July weather everyone especially loved the pool. Mirella and Francesco are SO kind! They were eager to go above and beyond to make our stay perfect. We were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary and Mirella made our whole family the most amazing meal. In my family's opinion it was the best meal we had in Italy. Mirella also gave a cooking class to 10 of our young adults. They loved it! Mirella gave them such a wonderful personalized experience, and they are now eager to try the recipes at home. Thanks to Mirella and Francesco for giving our family wonderful and happy memories we will treasure for a very long time!

We had the most amazing stay at Palazzo del Duca! Mirella and Francesco were incredible hosts from start to finish. Their communication was excellent, and they went above and beyond to help organize everything on our wedding day, making it completely stress-free.Mirella prepared an absolutely delicious wedding meal that our guests are still talking about, and Francesco’s wine tasting was such a fun and memorable experience. The villa was the perfect place for our families to relax, spend time together, and celebrate. The rooms were charming, the area was beautiful, and we truly loved every minute of our stay.We already miss it and can’t thank Mirella and Francesco enough for making our wedding and vacation so special. We would recommend Palazzo del Duca to anyone without hesitation!

This Villa was the perfect escape while also close to some fantastic day trip experiences. I was lucky enough to have a wedding here and also one week stay with family. The hosts, Mirella and Francesco, were exceptional for both our stay and our wedding. The experience was unforgettable, and I cannot thank them enough. Highly recommend this property for both vacation and small events.

We had a lovely stay at this beautiful palazzo. The apartments were spacious and clean. We visited with an extended family, so each smaller unit could have their own apartment and some space whenever needed, yet we could all eat outside together (or inside on the occasional rainy day), and spend time in the pool. The kids (ages 2-6) especially adored their pool time. There are lovely small towns to visit nearby. The host, Mirella, is gracious and kind, informing us of local events, and times when local merchants had things to sell, vegetables/fruit, bread, fish, etc. There was also a festival over the weekend with local artists selling their wares, and music and food in the park. Highly recommended!
