This is a Wonderful Waterfront Getaway for any Family to enjoy during anytime of year! Located on Lake Mitchell Canal with direct access to Lake Mitchell & Lake Cadillac. Just 1 mile west of Cadillac, 8 miles east of Caberfae Ski Resort, and just 2 miles north of M-55 near the Heart of the Manistee National Forest. Great for Summer and Winter Vacation Getaway! Lake Cadillac & Lake Mitchell out the back door for lots of Fishing, Boating, Canoeing, Kayaking, Ice Fishing & much more. Swimming in the water from your boat or a nearby public beach. Snowmobile Trail located 1 mile down the road. No wasting time loading and unloading sleds all day long. Just RIDE! Cadillac Snowmobile Festival just outside the front door. Top Notch SKIING & GOLF at Caberfae Resort (7 miles) & Crystal Mountian Resort (15 miles). (By the way staying at this Lake House is much nicer & less expensive than any small hotel room! Adventure Island Amusement Park with go-carts, bumper boats, water slides, mini-golf, & more (1 miles). Pine River canoeing, tubing, paddle board, rafting, & more (10 miles). Hiking & Hunting on the 1000's of acres of State land 1 mile down the road because it is located near the heart of the Manistee Forest. Steelhead & Salmon Fishing at Tippy Dam (15 miles). ORV trailhead about 5 to 8 miles away. Cross Country Skiing & Snowshoeing Morel Mushroom Hunting is some of the best in the area. Little River Casino (30 miles). Fire pit for those marsh mellows & other goodies. Walk to Downtown Cadillac for Festivals, Shopping, & just to enjoy the Old Town Charm. Watch a video from Movie Library of over 200 movies VHS player or use the High Speed WIFI. Enjoy the peacefulness of the area while reading a book & dangling your feet in the water. The place was a cute little cottage. It had everything we needed and was clean. It did smell a bit musty. Opening windows helped with that, and air freshener. Contact with host was good as well.

The property is nicely located on the canal. That was the reason we rented this place with an easy access to the water. The access wasn’t as easy as we were hoping making it hard to get in and out the kayaks, etc.. The house is old and needs some fresh paint and a deep clean. The strong smell of bleach coming in was covering a musty smell. The windows were dirty, there’s was nothing on the house manual about the area, no recommandations of places to visit or restaurants to try, etc… Only a bunch of to do lists at check in and checkout time. There’s 2 grill, one charcoal attached to the deck full of old ashes that we couldn’t removed because it was chained. The second grill, a gas one, had only one burner working. Our grilling night didn’t end up the way we were hoping.. The kitchen doesn’t have much, like I couldn’t find a whisk or a wooden spatula to make eggs, there’s was only 1 wine glass, a bunch of champagne flutes and plastic cups. The communication was very business oriented with a contract needing to be signed. I never rented a place that made me feel like I was borrowing it from someone I owed to.I am very surprised about the review prior to us, maybe relatives..?
