Charming house with views completely refurbished, decor is neat and warm,

The chalet, the location, everything perfect.

We came as a group of family & friends for trail running and hiking. It’s a wonderful cozy chalet, well equipped and with a splendid view on Mont Blanc. Another bonus, especially in summer, is the garden and veranda.

We had a truly memorable week in the Alps! Taconnaz was the perfect base; there are stunning views of the Mont Blanc Massif from the property itself and it is within minutes of Chamonix and the various cable cars in the valley - we used a car mostly, but public transport connections are excellent. We were able to make forays to Lake Geneva and into Courmayeur and the beautiful Val Ferret in Italy via the MB tunnel. Communication with the host via the VRBO site was clear throughout (except for my own confusion about payment to the house keeper - sorry Valerie!!). The property was just as described, with plenty of space for my wife and I and our two teenage sons. We were there in July / August, and the upstairs room was hot, but the bedrooms, which are downstairs, remained relatively cool. The facilities were great. Beautiful apartment. Amazing views of the Chamonix Aguilles & Mt Blanc. Private garden. Responsive and attentive owners. We stayed for three weeks and hope to be back in the future. A very happy family. Thank you.

Cozy chalet with gorgeous views.

Nice spacious property, set in a great location with stunning surroundings.

A really good place, particularly enjoyed the garden with the views and being able to sit 6 at table in the garden. Very much appreciated the upside down nature of the building - living upstairs, beds downstairs, as it meant there was a cool place to sleep. It was good for the six of us because the weather was mainly excellent, so we had nearly every meal outside. However, we would have had trouble seating 6 of us inside for meals, as the breakfast bar only had 4 chairs and there was no other dining table! So maybe this should be changed - would be a squash for 6 in the winter! Also please think about the thickness of the duvets! The duvet we had on our bed was far too hot in August even in the cool downstairs. The only alternative was to sleep under the duvet cover and a not full-sized blanket, which is what we did. So please consider making the bed covering more flexible for the user in terms of temperature control. We had a great time - thank you very much.

We stayed for a week at Chalet Vrai departing.on the 24th February. The chalet lived up to expectations and was very comfortable. There were a couple of things we didn’t realise were included such as dishwasher and washing machine, which were both very handy. On arrival and following our GPS the road leading to the chalet is on a steep incline and is very icy. Not having snow chains or a 4 wheel drive vehicle we couldn’t drive up this hill. Luckily we found another route to the Chalet from the opposite end of the road which was a lot easier to drive on so we were able to get the car to the chalet. Worth noting this in future as this was a little stressful. The views of the mountains are fantastic and we enjoyed a week of skiing in Les Houches. The ski bus is a few minutes walk from the chalet however we chose to drive to the ski lift areas. We paid extra in the chalet for linen and towels, which I was told was optional but worth bringing your own towels if you like large bath towels like we do. Plenty of room in the chalet for the 5 of us (3 kids and 2 adults) WiFi was good. Improvements that could’ve been made if I was being honest were: more/ better towels, washing up liquid for guests to use and a couple of dishwasher tablets to get you started, grit or salt available for the drive/ footpath as we slipped many a time, English speaking tv channels ( however we used our Netflix subscription so wasn’t a major issue) There may have been more info in the book for guests to use but if there was anything important it would’ve been sensible to be in English too. Lovely showers to use at the end of a hard days skiing and just about enough hot water for the five of us. All in all we really enjoyed our stay. The hosts and cleaner have been very helpful and lovely too. Thank you
