Please note that Mullaghduff Thatched Cottage is currently waiting for a re-thatch, we don't have a date for completion of this work. The original thatch has been removed, the galvanised under-roof has been painted and insulated while we wait for the thatcher to schedule us in when the materials have been sourced. We are operating as normal and feedback from regular and new guests has been great. A photo of the cottage as it currently looks has been uploaded.

We loved this house - the location, the house. Everything was so authentic, like the older thatched homes you can see at museums. Maxine was a wonderful hostess, and we would absolutely go back!

In coming to Ireland, we look for a rental that allows us to feel like we are permanent residents--although only for a short period. This cottage fit the bill. We enjoyed the convenience of location and the amenities within. Our host and her local representatives were accessible at all times and answered our every need. It was a truly relaxing three weeks.

What a great cottage! My husband has wanted for years to rent a cottage in County Donegal for a month and just hang out in the homeland of his ancestors. We were so lucky to find this cottage! It was exactly what we had hoped for and more! It is exactly as described. The caretaker, Caroline, lives right across the street and was always very helpful including meeting us at the airport and letting us follow her "home" and then giving us some food to get us through breakfast the next morning. And Maxine, the owner was very responsive whenever I had a question before our arrival and while there! She is great! The location was fabulous for touring County Donegal. You can easily do day trips anywhere in the county and boy did we do that!! Only took a couple of days off. A huge bonus, besides being only 4 minutes from the airport, was the proximity to two fabulous beaches. They are a great place to go for a walk, especially the beautiful Carrickfin Blue Beach which is right next to the airport. I took full advantage of the beach for walks on any day where we did not get out and about! If you like to get in the ocean and swim this is a great beach for that as well. Also, don't miss the Boat Strand also by the airport. Ask Caroline and she will tell you how to get there! We are already talking about returning next year so that should tell you all you need to know about how great this cottage is! You won't be disappointed!
