We had a wonderful stay. It was perfect for my husbands birthday. Judi & Nuel were so sweet and accommodating. We will look forward to coming back for our next family vacation.

I stayed here for 4 days with my husband and 15 year old son. It was one of the most relaxing vacations we’ve had in a while. Keep in mind this is not ocean front but is incredibly close walking distance to the ocean. The unit is upstairs from the main living area. Totally separate entrance. The unit itself doesn’t have a view but the patio on the canal is all yours. I drank coffee every morning out there with zero issues. In fact, we loved chatting with Nuel and asked for advice on the best places to visit in the area. We also had use of the Duffy and had a blast on it. Granted we are familiar with boats and how to operate them. It’s electric so make sure it’s charged before leaving. You are right around the corner from The Alley, a very yummy restaurant. Also right around the corner from a donut place that was quite delicious as well. We had a car rental but found it easier to walk or Uber places. The best part of the unit is the location in my opinion. The beaches nearby are less crowded than some of the other beaches. If you’re looking for a laid back, relaxing trip; this is the place for you. I also recommend taking the ferry to Balboa Island. Just walk on (it’s only 2). When you get there, rent a golf cart and cruise the island. We had an absolute blast doing this.We would definitely stay here again.

The only reason for picking this property is for the use of the electric Duffy boat. Judi and Nuel the hosts were non responsive to our requests for help when the Duffy stopped working in the harbor. We were towed first by the harbor patrol to a public dock & then back to the house by a private towing company. This all could have been avoided if the host had charged the Duffy or instructed us on how to charge It. The charge indicator on the center console is broken & gives an inaccurate reading. Only one of the 2 bikes at the property is functional. The shower smells of sewer back up after each use and the fan needs to be run to clear the smell. I would not rent this place again
