Misleading Bed Sizes, but Redeemed by Honest Management and Good Facilities Property: Hotel Chandan Heritage, Bhubaneswar Stay Dates: June 18 – June 22, 2026 (4 Nights) Booking Type: Family Room (Booked for 3 Adults via Booking.com) ⚠️ Bottom Line The "Family Suite/Room" is not built to fit 3 adults, despite the original listing claiming it had two "large double beds." However, while the room logistics were frustrating, the general facilities are good, and the management's transparent and friendly handling of the situation helped salvage the experience. The Stay Experience & Room Discrepancy We arrived late on June 18th (around 9:45 PM) due to the Vande Bharat train schedule. Realizing that three adults could not possibly fit on the provided beds, the staff provided an extra floor mattress. The listing advertised beds that were 151–180 cm wide, but upon measuring them myself, the actual dimensions were: Width: 114 cm (essentially single/twin beds) Length: 208 cm Height: 20 cm The two beds were separated by a fixed small side table, making it impossible to push them together. A second adult would simply slip off the edge. The Extra Charge Incident & Apology On the second night around 11:00 PM, there was a dispute when the night staff demanded an extra ₹300 per night for the mattress, stating it wasn't included in the Booking.com total. When we hesitated, they initially said they would remove the mattress entirely. However, the staff later offered a sincere apology for the inconvenience and how the late-night situation was handled, which we appreciated. The Manager's Intervention The next morning, we spoke to the manager, who was very friendly and completely transparent about the setup. He showed us another room to explain that "Family Suite" referred to a larger room layout rather than larger beds.
