We were warmly welcomed by the host upon arrival, who was friendly, discreet, and polite during our stay. The location is excellent, situated on the outskirts of Quillan in a peaceful setting with the Aude River just behind the property (although there is no direct river access from the house). The large backyard was a wonderful bonus for our dogs. One thing to note is that the garden isn't directly accessible from inside the house, you need to exit through the front door, go down the stairs, and enter from the side of the property. The yard also has beautiful cherry, apple, and apricot trees, which add to the charm. Inside, the house is beautifully renovated, tastefully decorated, and very comfortable. Overall, we had a great stay and would recommend this property. I would, however, like to share a few details that would have been helpful for us to know before booking.

Things to be aware of: We visited during a heatwave, and when we arrived the upstairs was extremely hot and had not been aired out beforehand. It took about two hours with the windows open each evening for the upstairs to cool to a comfortable sleeping temperature. Only one roll of toilet paper was provided for our one-week stay, so future guests may want to plan accordingly. It was also unclear whether bed linens were included or if there was an additional charge. We brought our own sheets, washed everything we used before leaving, and left them out to dry. Our checkout experience was unfortunately not as pleasant as our arrival. We were asked to do a walkthrough of the house before leaving, which felt more like an inspection of the cleaning than a final check. We had gone out of our way to thoroughly clean the property, bringing some of our own cleaning supplies after reading a previous review mentioning cleaning concerns. There was some confusion when the host couldn't initially find the sheets, but after I showed her where they were, the issue was resolved. While the host may have had previous negative experiences with guests, the checkout process felt uncomfortable and left us with a disappointing final impression. One safety note for families or pet owners: the backyard includes an elevated area that is not fully enclosed. Unfortunately, our dog fell from this area on our last day. Adding a gate or barrier would make the space much safer for small children and pets. Finally, while the interior of the house is beautifully renovated and maintained, the exterior could use a bit more attention to match the quality of the inside. The beds were comfortable, although we found the pillows less so.

La casa es muy amplia, luminosa y está bien equipada. Es muy bonita y confortable. Las camas son muy cómodas y te ofrecen todo lo que puedas necesitar. La propietaria muy atenta.

La acaban de reformar y faltan pequeños detalles, sin importancia. El único handicap es que está tocando una carretera bastante transitada de día, por la noche no se escucha nada.
