Chic Retreat with King Bed in Barnard Castle

very close to town centre and parking in queen street was only £2 a night. Kitchen was well fitted out however there were loads of places to eat out

wasnt easy to find at first the directions given didnt describe the apartments name which had a sign outside the main door, only street name with no number, did eventually figure it out

Location was excellent with an easy walk to the High Street for shops and restaurants. Parking was easy and free. The accommodation was presented well. The bed was comfortable adn the shower was good.

A small coffee table in the living room, to put your drinks on, would have been nice. The shelves by the bed need to be bigger so you can put your book and water glass down. Also let people know when the entry codes to the property will be sent. The apartment is on second floor.

Lovely apartment with all you need for a weekend away. The bathroom and bedroom are really clean. In a very good location.

The TV in the bedroom needs connecting so it couldn't be watched. There was a cupboard with hangers in the bottom but no rail so there was no-where to hang out clothes.

The location was great. The decor was interesting and bold. Unfortunately style over substance was the best description that I could give it.

Nowhere to hang anything…. not even a coat. Nowhere to store clothing-no wardrobe -just a cupboard with no hanging rail or hangers, and tiny dressing table drawers were all that was available. The property hadn’t been cleaned to a satisfactory standard and there was no bedding available on arrival, even though I had been assured that it would be, for the very uncomfortable sofa bed. The heating had been set to 25degrees and we couldn’t find the thermostat to allow us to turn it down. (Turns out it was hidden by a badly placed plastic palm plant). The built in oven wasn’t fastened to its carcass and so the whole thing slid out if you tried to open it - which could be considered dangerous.
