The price was reasonable and the owner kindly allowed us to check in an hour earlier - a further well-meant extension to two hours was unfortunately offered too late to be acted upon, the message received while we we underway on a four-hour journey to the hotel. Self-service coffee was available in a kitchen (and the puppy there was lovely!).

The checking in procedure proved chaotic. Although messages WERE sent advising us that we should request the key from a neighbour, these were only sent a few hours before arrival and were not received in time and we spent a frustrating half an hour trying to get into our room (but our thanks to the neighbour who helped!). The room itself was very small and dominated by the double bed and a large bunk bed. The room was clearly designed for a child, the shelves packed with children’s toys and books. There was no room for bedside tables or table/chairs. The bathroom was a shared one, rather than en-suite (which we hadn’t expected) and there was no TV - though in fairness one could watch it in a downstairs lounge. We left at 8:00am and never met the owner.
