Playgrounds Sabbit Mentawai Surfcamp

We spent two amazing days in Sabbit, even though we are not surfers. Paco and Fabianne welcomed us so warmly, paying attention to every little detail and organising a wonderful daily tour around the island for us, with snorkeling, exploring and plenty of time to chill. The house is a beautiful, typical Mentawai-style uma — such a cool and authentic place to stay. But above all, the food is DELICIOUS! Everything is homemade and absolutely amazing, especially the chocolate mousse!!! We had such a wonderful time and would definitely recommend Sabbit, even if you’re not a surfer.

Great location - 5 minutes from EBay, 15-20 minutes walk from Pitstops, 40-45 minutes from Beng Bengs. Comfy beds. Very tasty meals (with desert). 2 boats (advanced & intermediate) for surf sessions.

Nothing! An instance of overbooking meant I was shuffled around a little but it didn’t take away from the experience. Would recommend.

I was very happy with how close it is to that water and the boats are moored right out front. Food was different every meal, a mix of Spanish meals and Indonesian and also some Italian. Paco was super helpful organising our fast ferry over there and back, the staff were legends too. Would recommend anyone to stay here.

The food was amazing, very varied, vibes in the camp were really good, I met really cool people. The surf guides are really experienced in the area, guiding you to different spots and indicating key things about them. Transport to and from the camp is well organised. Comfortable rooms and perfect location.
