Luxury 2 Bed cottage in Killin

The property was clean and the beds were comfortable with good bedding.

There were so many issues with this property which have been put to the host in writing with no response and no engagement regarding a refund. Barely any toilet paper, no bin bags, no washing up liquid or dishwasher tablets provided, dirty laundry left in the machine and in the hallway. Flooring missing at the front door. Dishwasher door hanging off. No working lighting in hallway and no outside lighting which makes arriving in the Scottish winter challenging. Handles hanging off internal doors. But worst of all the property was uncomfortably cold on arrival. No heating was on and in January in Scotland that makes for a very uncomfortable stay. Too cold to stay in and cook and eat so we had to resort to the neighbouring hotel for food whilst the cottage warmed up. The bedroom radiators were effective but downstairs the property was still cold and the only radiator in the living room doesn’t work as it isn’t connected to any power source. The host seems to be aware of all these issues based on recent reviews but clearly does not care and will gladly take guests money with no effort to make your stay more comfortable or to refund you when you realise the service is not up to standard. Avoid avoid avoid.

Heater didn’t work in living room. No spare heater. Dishwasher didn’t open as door was broken.

Arrived to a house that was freezing , all heaters were turned off, and one wasn't even connected. Door handle falling off. Light not working and bare wires showing, also bare floors as you entrance house Definitely not a Luxury 2 Bedroom at £220/nt

Location was lovely and an easy walk into the village. Property has potential to be really good.

A number of issues that had been raised in previous reviews were still not adequately addressed: getting property details before the stay; work round the door not finished so insulation still showing; overhead light in the main bedroom not working. There were also a number of cleanliness/maintenance issues that we flagged up with the host upon our arrival - bathroom had not been cleaned properly and empty/half used bottles from the previous guests still in the bathroom, dishwasher still had dishes from previous guests, dishwasher cupboard door had fallen off, crumbs over sofa and dining room table. We also queried whether the beds had been changed as they looked like they had been slept in (apparently they had been). Having to clean the bathroom and living/dining areas ourselves was very disappointing. Despite an apology from the host and him offering compensation, this has not materialised. It definitely did not meet the 'luxury' standard, as advertised.

The area was very convenient in a great location. Beds were comfortable

No communication despite email sent of arrival time. Tried to call 4 times with no answer, when we arrived. Advised entry code after 40min waiting in the cold. When inside cottage, heating wasn't on and very cold, lights not working, kitchen cupboard door taken off and left to one side, beds not made. We rang again, advised to go to 3 bedroom apartment. Apartment not clean, all linen was on floor in lounge room, no towels, no toilet paper. Kitchen facilities needed topping up. Bathroom facilities empty. Balustrade broken. Other areas required attention. For the price I paid, it was unacceptable conditions.

Great location, clean & tastefully decorated with all necessary home comforts.

Wasn’t great communication pre-visit to gain necessary access information. Also might be good idea to have information booklet in house with details of local services & amenities.

Perfect location for a few days. Comfortable bed and quality bedding. Quiet location. Good parking. Decent outdoor furniture. Fresh and new feel. Great shower and separate good sized bath.

Plenty of draw space but no where to hang anything up.

Loved the way the property was laid out and furnished. There was ample parking and the host was very helpful.

It was very hot so would have been nice to have access to fans or a lighter duvet - highly unusual, I know,min Scotland
