Nice stay but hotel has seen better days
Helpful and pleasant staff and good sized room. Excellent location and easy access to village.
There is no doubt that the Killin Hotel has seen better days and is a bit tatty, and it would certainly benefit from a makeover. The bedroom was OK but the bathrooms, while clean, were very dated. The hotel is saved by the staff who were very pleasant and helpful.

Good and cozy spot to rest up during a long drive
Great location, good value, nice staff
The shower in our room was just too small to be functional (1.8M, 13 st).

Overall we have a very pleasant stay at the Killin Hotel. Complete peace and relaxation. Thank you
Breakfast - excellent and staff service was wonderful and very friendly.
Location - absolutely perfect. Lovely little village and plenty amenities.
The Hotel could do with a bit of TLC.
Room - very cold but were given a heater to try to heat the room. Not the best view.
TV 'had a mind of its own' changed channels and came on randomly during the night.

A lovely place to visit and a warm, comfy stay :)
Lovely location, the staff were very helpful and we were moved to a much larger twin room inside the hotel without having to request this. Very comfy beds and beautiful views. The Sunday roast dinner was amazing and very good value.
The only thing that was a bit frustrating was the lack of staff generally around the hotel, it was a quiet time of year but we ended up just leaving our key pass on the desk and leaving without speaking to anyone. It would have been nice to have been able to say we'd had a lovely stay.

Although we had a problem with wheelchair access over pebble path we were well looked after by all the staff and we enjo
Room in annex, clean and warm with an opening window which we prefer (rather than closed with air conditioning) Staff were very friendly and helpful and meals were fine
We asked for downstairs room as my husband is a wheelchair user The annex room we were allocated was everything we could want but unfortunately access was via a pebble path which was very very difficult to get wheelchair along

Not going back even for food
Location
Dirty kettle in the room. Very cold even with extra radiator. The main radiator was off in the morning even outside were freezing. Stuff entered room without knocking and the guy is lucky my girlfriend weren’t naked. I spoke with receptionist about this but based on her face expression she didn’t care at all. Dont drink the coffee- disgusting

Great location
Location was excellent and in a beautiful setting right next to the river.
The staff were friendly + helpful.
We liked the room size and it was very quiet. The bar area was great with a real fire, very cosy.
We would return as the location is perfect.
The bathroom was a little dated, and 1 afternoon we had to settle for luke warm showers which wasnt great especially as we'd just got in from completing the local ultra marathon.
My partner wasnt keen on the dry frozen chips served at dinner, i think they could do so much more with their menu. But breakfast was great and they do a veggie cooked breakfast which i was happy with.

It was a good sized room for us and the dog.

Excellent good value stay
Hotel staff were excellent and bar and restaurant had a great atmosphere. Pleasantly busy without being overrun, and obviously more successful now than when I last stayed a few years ago. Good value too.
Nothing to mention.

Beautiful Kilin
Its a great little spot located nicely along the river. The food was good! We arrived on a Saturday and their were a couple of functions so the bar was quite busy and a bit loud. The rooms aren't that soundproof and the bed is quite firm. That being said, I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again!

Beautiful location reasonable stay
The room was comfortable and the location was good.
The parking was hazardous. The greeting from the duty manager was not friendly. The booking was supposed to include breakfast, but on checking in was told it didn’t. No breakfast cafes available. Was this the hotel or booking.com issue?

Don't expect anything good here
There was no one on reception on arrival. When they were located in the bar, the welcome was poor. We were told our room number and that it was up the stairs, with no offer of assistance with bags. The lift didn't go to the floor we were on, and my mobility isn't great.
We were informed that we couldn't eat there as it was fully booked, and when asked where else to try, it was a 'try somewhere in the village' type answer, but no recommendations.
Breakfast was a farce. Waited 40 minutes for it to arrive after ordering, only to find that most of it was overcooked and not great quality. The breakfast service was ending, and one table had to ask if they were even going to get their food.
The car park was not marked out, so people were just leaving there cars anywhere. There was no disabled bay, and there were motorcycles parked right at the entrance making it difficult to even wheel a case through the gap.
The 'view' which was a feature of the booking was obscured.
The bathroom was tiny, and the floor hadn't had a good clean in a long time.
The four poster bed looked good, but was rock hard.

Good clean room in very scenic location.
Scenic location overlooking the river in Killin. We had a king room with river view. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable with decent pillows. The bathroom was clean but quite small, fine for us, however larger sized guests may find the shower cubicle a bit tight to move around in. The room windows opened part way on a safety lock which was a big benefit as we find hotel rooms can be too hot and stuffy when you cannot open the windows. The co-op supermarket is a short walk around the corner so this was very handy for last minute food supplies. Killin is a lovely place and well worth a visit for walking or cycling. I was here for a running event and this location was perfect just across the road from the start line. Would stay here again.
The communal areas are a little tired looking and could do with a coat of paint, the stair carpet is very worn, but these are obviously big jobs which would be disruptive to quests. Given the general lack of any decent honest workmen in the UK these days it is not a surprise these things haven't been sorted out yet. The air fresheners in the corridors are too over-powering, I know some folks like these fake floral smells, but personally as someone who has asthma to me they stink and I have to take my inhaler to breath. Usually people use them to cover other odours like damp, etc. Just open a window or ventilate the place - it is the middle of the countryside - you could not ask for fresher air than you get in the Highlands!
We did not eat here so cannot comment on the food, but I would agree with others that £15 for breakfast is too expensive, especially if you only want a pastry or toast and coffee. We took our own light breakfast in a cool bag, rather than pay this, and the Co-op is nearby for other supplies like sandwiches. There is also a cafe in the village.

Expensive for what you get
Nice location. Lovely room
Check out time is far too early and despite the room being nice, it was far too expensive for what it was. No breakfast included either.

A lovely overnight stay.
If travelling with Internet aged people - this has excellent WiFi. The beer garden was really nice and the room was small but well equipped.

They need a new receptionist, all the other staff were good that we dealt with.
The food was good, room was a good size.
There woman in reception was quite rude to the customer checking in before us and we got the same treatment, check in was 3pm and we finally got the keycard at 4pm!!! Toilet not cleaned very well, cups dirty and 2 of the bottles of water were opened and not full!!

Great location and good breakfast. Quaint bar area for evening.
Older hotel with quirky bedroom layout.

Very average property.
Nothing really stood out as being worthy of a mention unfortunately.
The property feels as if it’s tired and in need of some improvement and general maintenance. Whilst it delivers as a reasonable overnight stop we would not wish to use it for extended stays.

Lovely distinctively Scottish mansion in a beautiful part of the country.
Staff is very welcoming and friendly. It is hard to find any better in that respect. The hotel offers good food, plus has a small bar. Though not relevant in my situation, the place is dog friendly.
It is not a modern place, but it does have a distinctive and local vibe. I had a great stay.
Nothing comes to mind.

Great location for cycling but we won’t go back.
We are mature cyclists. We are gradually travelling the length of the UK in “byte” sized chunks.
This hotel was in a convenient location for two interesting and challenging rides on a National Cycle Route.
Food was good and bike storage easy. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful.
We have stayed at 20+ hotels on this journey. This was memorable for the wrong reasons.
We arrived early to try and avoid a forecast deluge which did in fact materialise. The person who met us at the hotel was unfriendly to the point of rudeness. It spoiled our experience. We know managing hotels must be challenging but it can be done in a friendly way. Surely that is implicit in “hospitality.”

Hotel in a fantastic location, staff v friendly & helpful. Good food & would definitely stay again.
Location was lovely, very friendly & helpful staff & room with a fantastic view
There was nothing we didn't like, staff service comfort location all excellent ... on a constructive criticism note the communal corridors looked tired & could do with a makeover, as could the exterior which would then add to the overall impression

Not what we experienced
We booked the room in February and arrived in the end of June, we got one off the worst room over the kitchen and and a very loud fan. It seems that Booking.com has very low priority.

Highly recomended
Staff were excellent and very attentive.
Food was very good, but you need to book for evening meal.
Left it too late to book meal on first night and could only get in at 5:30
Breakfast was ok but could have been hotter & felt like food had been kept warm for a period of time then.put in a hot plate. Smokey bacon not everyone likes, should either advise or do unsmoked.
