The apartment was in a small family compound, which was comfortable. The shared, outdoor kitchen was a new experience for us but it was very well appointed and worked out just fine. The Tuk Tuks were very nearby as well as a well stocked sari sari with lots of fresh vegetables. The onsite family/staff was very helpful and responsive.
One of the little dogs living there always used the patio area off our front porch for his potty every day. It was always cleaned up within a couple of hours. There were a lot of tiny ants in the kitchen that we could never get rid of. They were harmless but kind of a nuisance.
