The Blue House

I loved the entire property it’s so peaceful and soothing.

This one truly deserves something straight from the heart. Still trying to figure what hit home the hardest — Shreya’s genuine warmth, the ever smiling volunteers, the soulful vibe of the common room, the breathtaking views of Kanchenjunga, the adorable furry friends (one of them - Murphy, faithfully shadowed our footsteps on every mini-exploration, playing the perfect protective host) or was it the delicious meals we eagerly anticipated daily. We practically had to pry our little girl away from all the love she received here just to continue our journey further. Shreya and her team truly showed us the beautiful impact a perfect homestay can have on a travellers.

The Blue House is a bit of a journey from the city, tucked away in a quiet village setting, but honestly that is exactly what makes it so special. It feels like a premium hill retreat where nature does all the talking. Waking up to those views of Kanchenjunga is something I will not forget anytime soon. The staff completely made the trip. A big shoutout to Siya and Ishaan, whose behaviour was excellent throughout. Nothing felt forced or formal, just genuine warmth from start to finish. And the home cooked food? A solid 10/10. Every meal felt like eating at family’s place. We also loved the resident cats and dogs roaming around, they add so much charm to the whole experience. I visited with my Filipina partner and this was her very first trip to India and to rural Sikkim. I could not have asked for a better introduction for her. She felt welcome, comfortable and completely at ease the entire time. If you love nature, real hospitality and incredible Nepali cuisine, this is a 200% recommendation from me.

Everything, the best part are the people. They felt more like an extended family to me.
