The flat is well equipped and comfortable with fantastic views south over the coast, airport and, in the distance, the "Deserted Islands". We greatly enjoyed watching the aircraft fly past the window to land at the airport and the noise was not a problem at all - probably less so that the barking of next door's dog or the cars beeping their horns as they went around a corner just down from the house. Both these stopped at night, though, so didn't interfere with sleep. The sofa in the flat was more comfortable than the standard fare and the bed was ok. Although the kitchen was quite small, it had everything you needed although we didn't try the oven. The fridge has a freezer section at the top.

To stay in this flat, you need to hire a car. To hire a car on Madeira, you need to be a confident and competent driver! The flat is almost exactly 1 mile from the ER101 up a very steep road with two 135 degree bends. The road around the island is in good condition but, if you want to go anywhere away from the coast, expect very steep and windy single-track roads that can have very few passing places. Our week in mid-April was a little cold and the flat has only a portable electric heater that we didn't notice until after the temperature went up a bit towards the end of the week. We could have done with an extra cover on the bed, though. The plug in the kitchen sink doesn't stop the water draining, I found that a yoghurt pot lid worked beautifully!
