The bed was sooo comfy
We didn't want to leave it
The views from the widows are stunning
Squeaky floorboards and slippery mats which could be a safety hazard
The keybox was very tricky glad they had put the key in the door for us

Seemingly in the middle of nowhere - the last property on the little road, this is part of a farmyard with stables next to the river and along a farm track. It has beautiful views and is very quiet. Our cocker spaniel adored walking for miles along the river path, it was great to let her off the lead and watch her explore.
Also lovely to lie in bed and view the stars above. Nice strong shower.
Host was brilliant - there if we needed help but not hovering - and supplied milk, eggs, butter and bread as well as tea and coffee. I'm pretty sure the eggs were home grown!
No oven but soon worked out air fryer and microwave so no problem.

I stayed at this beautiful lodge after reading the glowing reviews and generally found that my experience of the lodge married up well with the 20 or so reviews on booking.com. Although I am afraid that my review cannot be so glowing and it pains me to write the below about a small business that has clearly made many people very happy. On arrival at the lodge I found the bedroom and shower area to be to my satisfaction.
The kitchen simply hadn't been cleaned. The fridge had marks over the door, the microwave was covered in grime as was the cooking hob, the toaster had crumbs across the top as well as inside, the airfryer had grime in the controls. The washing up sponges had food debris still clinging to them. The utensils and the container were filthy. The picture frame on the wall was filled with small dead bugs. I cut my foot on a nail sticking out of the floorboard, I mention this just so the owners may fix it. I spent 30 minutes addressing these things to make everything hygienic enough for my own standards which I feel are reasonable. That evening I made a drink, getting the fresh milk out of the fridge. I found that milk had separated into curdled lumps which made me quite sick emptying it. I chose keep some so that I could show the owners. I was happy not to leave a negative review but preferred to discuss the problems directly the following day, suggesting that one of my two days stay be recompensed. I explained, that I had read the reviews, and found it unusual that they did not align to my experience. Pre-empting possible misunderstanding, I suggested that their cleaner may be away or perhaps her husbands illness could be making things difficult and if this was so, said it was understandable. The response I got was ambivalent but she nodded her head and seemed to understand what I was saying to her. She again asked me if I wanted more bread and milk. Regarding being recompensed she said she would sort something out. I heard nothing further until I messaged asking about the compensation. I received a message from her husband saying we had checked out late and ironically had left the place in a state and there was nothing to be compensated for as we had told Sally everything was fine. I hope that this review helps them reflect upon how gaslighting and disrespecting guests is no way to run a small business.

I liked the location.. it was peaceful and quiet, right next to the river, and surrounded by fields. We had a long drive to get here, with the purpose of the trip to attend a concert which didn't finish until very late, so this was a great place to come back to when we were very tired... no noise, comfortable bed. I liked the fact that the property had a kitchen with everything you needed, as some properties only have some things, but not others. We didn't bring pets, but the property even had dog bowls and blankets, for those that do. I liked the information book in the room that tells you about the property, the host, and local attractions. A really nice, personal touch, was the host leaving eggs, milk, butter, bread, and jam in the fridge for our stay. Me and my son had a nice walk down the river before we left, it was very tranquil. The property owner was very nice, and very helpful.
I would have liked to have shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom. And it would've been great to have had a description of the facilities that were in the property, prior to making our way up there. If I had known there were as many cooking facilities, I would have brought more food for the trip.. but I kept it simple because, as previously stated, not all properties have as many facilities... some just have a kettle and toaster, or everything but a fridge, etc.

A lovely location down a quiet track alongside a river and footpath, perfect for the dogs. Accommodation was clean and very comfortable and the hosts made me and the dogs feel very welcome. The kitchen was well kitted out and the shower was excellent! I would absolutely recommend.
I have nothing negative to say 😊

Ideal for couples. We had no concerns leaving to windows open at night during the hot weather, as it was a very private, quiet setting. Well set up kitchen, and a nice surprise to find eggs, milk, butter, bread and jam in the fridge for our first breakfast.
Everything was lovely.

Sally and her family were wonderful! They treated us like family but we also had our own private space too. The Lodge is a seperate house on their farm next to the Host's house in a very peaceful corner of Ely/Prickwillow. The lodge was clean and we arrived to a fridge full of the basic necessities. Our car broke down on their property and they immediately helped us out to get back on the road. We brought our dogs and they loved it too. Lots of places to run around and nice trails along the river. Cant say it enough, it was great.
