Stunning location, with sweeping views of fields stretching to the horizon, with the sea beyond. The house boasts a unique location of being ‘in the middle of nowhere’ at the same time only 10 minutes away from Dorchester, and 20 mins from Weymouth.
Through the windows, you can see Hardy Monument on the horizon - which gives the house its name.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this home and hosts. The home is so well appointed, down to the silverware. Every detail is rich and inviting. Please ask for the breakfast. If the weather is beautiful you can ask for breakfast in the garden. Fresh orange juice, coffee/tea, and home made warm from the oven croissants and chocolate croissants. For a very reasonable price. Ask about watching a sunset from the ruins of a Roman fort! The owner has a wonderful map with local sites and has more ideas if you ask.

Absolutely Fabulous Stay at this Farmhouse. Wonderful hosts in Luba and Chris who were so informative and helpful.Lovely property inside and out. So relaxing and peaceful. Missing the wonderful breakfasts already. 10 out of 10 !!

Great comms and lovely welcome from Luba and Chris for our two night stay. Easy to find and parking right next to the front door. The cottage was spotlessly clean and very peaceful with two spacious doubles, both with their own TV and modern en-suite facilities. Comfortable lounge with wood burner, TV and jigsaw ready to go - all with lovely views over to Hardy's Monument. Ideal location for visiting the local area by car - we went to Weymouth (Catch! restaurant was fab), Dorchester, Poundbury, Max Gate (National Trust) and Athelhampton House - will definitely be back as lots more to see. A great value mini-break, thank you!
