La Lavande

La Lavande is a striking example of a property that gets the physical product absolutely right. The place is tastefully decorated, highly modern, and, crucially, spotless clean - a sanctuary that appeals to the discerned traveller. The comfortable beds, the convenient building (parking, elevator), and the general attention to aesthetic detail confirm that the physical maintenance team are good at what they do. However, my overall experience was severely overshadowed by an unacceptable operational failure. The self check-in system, though a modern and good idea, turned into an absolute nightmare upon late arrival after a very long, tiring drive. The rigid demand for immediate full payment in cash caused significant distress, as we did not have the full amount and it was almost midnight with no exchange places open. Compounding this, the complete absence of responsive customer support was upsetting and showed an appalling lack of basic human consideration. To be left stranded while being sick, only for staff to appear later solely to fix a blurry passport photo, demonstrates a degree of insensitivity and carelessness that completely negates the venue's excellent facilities.

I noted small issues, such as a leak in the WC and the temporary plastic shower screen which needs replacing with proper glass. Simple dust bins were also missing. I am certain these details will be swiftly addressed. La Lavande must urgently overhaul its check-in and support system. The owners need to ensure their service standards match the physical brilliance of the property. Until the mandatory cash requirement is eliminated (allow for later payment to be processed the next day or credit card option) and human support guaranteed, this good physical venue will remain marred by its insensitive management. Be warned: bring cash for the full stay or go through a similar nightmare. Only for that, I would not stat at La Lavande again, unfortunately.
