About this house rental
Welcome to the Big Island Getaway minutes to the James River boat launch, Blue Ridge Parkway, Appalachian Trail, and halfway point to Natural Bridge/Lexington and Lynchburg/Bedford. This groovy artsy home is centrally located for short day trips and total relaxation while you are home. Three bedrooms with queen beds with entertainment TV with karaoke and music room to chill out and play some guitar or records. Full of local artist work. Family and pet friendly with fenced in 1 acre area to play.
This home has a septic system so please do not flush feminine/male products, paper towels, baby wipes down toilets, and if you bring children watch for them flushing down toys.
Please note that check in time ends at 11pm to avoid disturbing our neighbors.
Please wash any dirty dishes before you leave and you can put any kitchen trash bags in trash cans provided out front. There are extra bags under kitchen sink if needed.
If you plan to enjoy a fire only by law only start one after 6pm and we request no fires to be started after 11pm. Please extinguish all fires with hose provided. No fires to be left unattended for ANY reason or the fire department will be notified. There have been two forest fires in the area.
If you brought your pet make sure you pick up after it or there will be an additional charge. Bags are provided.

Literally felt like I was walking into my childhood. It is a small older home, nicely and thoughtfully decorated. Furnished with everything we needed for our stay. No issues checking in. Adequate driveway parking. We visited the Virginia Safari, Natural Bridge Park, Natty Bs Cafe, and walked across the James River walking bridge. All are within a 30min drive. Also went into Lynchburg for dinner to Mi Patron. Excellent spot for dinner and again about a 30min drive. Paul was a great host. Very responsive. My only complaint is that my Grandma wasn’t waiting inside.
