Zaros Springs Villa Avli

We had an amazing stay at Zaros Springs Villa Avli. The location is perfect — right in a charming and peaceful village, yet close to everything you need. Within walking distance, you can find grocery stores, a bakery, places to enjoy crepes, and great spots to eat. It’s the ideal place to experience local life. The hosts and the people in the village were incredibly welcoming. We truly felt the famous Greek hospitality and kindness here. This has been the best place we have stayed on Crete, without a doubt. The village itself is full of character and makes a great base for exploring the island. You can easily drive to all the main attractions. It takes about 40 minutes to reach Matala — a lovely beach town with a relaxed tourist vibe — and about an hour to Heraklion, where you can find everything you might need. The apartment we stayed in is part of a house with three apartments, all beautifully furnished and equipped with everything you need to cook for yourself. There’s also a wonderful shared pool where you can relax after a day of exploring. We can highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Crete. We will definitely choose to stay here again on our next trip!
