Chleo - Glamorous 2 BR Apt. in Athens

Only one complain, the shower inside the bedroom, the water is leaking underneath. Seems like not properly caulked. Besides that, we had a good time and stay.

This apartment is in a great location. We were in Athens for 2 nights on our way to the islands but wanting to see some of the historic sights. It is in the absolute best location for visiting the Acropolis and nearby attractions. When we arrived at the airport there was an unexpected (to us) taxi strike in Athens that had us traveling into the city by train instead of taxi or car service. This was a minor headache, but manageable. Especially because this apartment is less than 2 blocks, down a quiet side street from the Acropolis station. Better, it’s basically the same distance from the Acropolis and its museum; walking distance-through the quaint Plaka to so much more. If you don’t want tourist focused Athens, then you might not love this place…but if you are here for the history and culture it’s pretty great. The apartment is small but very pretty with high ceilings, a nice balcony, lovely compact bathrooms and anything you might need. 4 people can be very comfortable here. We even did laundry in the machine and made eggs for breakfast. Grocery around the corner. Need a taxi or rental car? It’s 1 block away. We left Athens by re ting a car and heading up to Delphi and literally walked a block to the Avis car rental to get the car. So perfect. Communication good. I will stay again if I’m in Athens, even if I avoid the Acropolis next time because the Plaka neighborhood and surrounding neighborhoods are lovely. Restaurants everywhere. Felt very in and around apartment.

We stayed here twice April 10-18 & Apr27-29 2026. A bit tricky to find as it is off the main roads, down an alley. Location ideal to main sites, Acropolis, the museum, metro stop, Plaka = 5-10 mins walk. . Check in can be tricky - instructions to get in are sent via email with links to open up the details only a few hours before arrival. Owner should have hard copy of rules in the unit especially for check out and to advise to turn on the hot water - First morning showers were ice cold. After a full day of travel it's hard to read all the details in that email Beds comfy, but pillows could use an upgrade. HVAC works well. Shower floors are tiled/marble - extremely slippery, so the first morning we bot rubber mats - Surprised this wasn't supplied. Good kitchen; did not use the oven but looked in good shape. 2 burner stove top, mike and pannini press was mostly used. No toaster but the press worked fine. Watch the fridge door and you need to ensure you push it all the way closed. Kettle and Nespresso machine was a nice touch. There is a small store out and to the right of the building as well as a bigger supermarket a block from that one. Balcony small - didn't use as weather was a bit cool when we were there. Original ad stated a washer/dryer in the unit but the machine, only had washing features so we had to take our wet clothes to a laundromat a few blocks away. Owner said to use drying rack on balcony, but it was dirty, rusted legs and no clothes pins.
