Native Villa with Pool at Kalumo Lodge

Absolutely incredible stay at Kalumo Lodge. The villa was beautiful, spacious and spotlessly clean, with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The private infinity pool and panoramic ocean views were the real highlights, waking up to that view every morning was unforgettable. The location is peaceful and secluded, but still close enough to Oslob’s main attractions. It was the perfect base for exploring the area and then coming back somewhere quiet to unwind. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout our stay and made us feel genuinely looked after. The food and drinks at the lodge were also fantastic, and the whole place has such a relaxed, private atmosphere. We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better stay. If you’re visiting Oslob, we would absolutely recommend staying here. We only wish we could have stayed longer!

We had a great time at Kalumo Lodge, it most be the best place to stay in Oslob!! The location is great, the house (with what feels like a private restaurant and bar) is wonderful and the staff is superfiendly and very helpful. Resort manager Rot really went the extra mile when he helped us get to dive with the whale sharks! We left with lots of fantastic memories!!

Kalumo Lodge in Oslob is a beautiful and very private property. The villa itself was gorgeous, and the attached bar/restaurant had great food with friendly staff. It’s a nice, intimate place to relax—but it is far from main attractions, so you’ll need a car or scooter (they do rent scooters on-site). Th front seat people are very friendly and made our stay flawless.

Unfortunately, our experience with management really hurt the stay. We booked a tour through the hotel and were quoted 1800 PHP per person the night before (whale sharks, Tumalog Falls, Sumilon Island). The next morning, the manager Rot suddenly asked for 6800 PHP total. We were rushed and dealt with it later. When my partner got sick and couldn’t continue, he only refunded 2000 PHP, claiming certain parts were already paid. However, he acted as our guide the entire time and we never saw any actual payments being made. It felt questionable, if not outright dishonest. To make things worse, when closing our bill at checkout, we were told it was cash only—at 9 PM with no ATM on-site. Despite paying for the hotel by credit card, we were told to go to a 7-Eleven in the dark to withdraw cash, with no flexibility.
