A real gem!
The staff were all helpful and friendly: the food was superb: the room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The location was delightful.
Apart from a rather noisy heating or air conditioning system at some part of the night it was in every respect a wonderful stay.

Understated English retreat in a classic Suffolk setting. Wonderful.
Super quiet classy hotel. A real secret destination.

Lovely relaxing weekend in beautiful Framlingham
Beautiful hotel and in a great location . The Christmas decorations were wonderful. Staff were friendly and helpful.
After returning to the hotel in the evenings around 10pm there was no one about and the bar was shut which was a shame . Breakfast was a bit limited a bit of fruit or yoghurt would have been nice .

We will stay at the same hotel if we visit Framlingham again.
The location was perfect. Staff was very friendly and kind. We also enjoyed the historic atmosphere of the building and nice breakfast.

A disappointing return
Good location at the top of the market square. Beautifully decorated bar and restaurant area (Christmas) Morning/breakfast staff were friendly and helpful. Bedroom was clean.
The reduced serving hours is not conducive to a warm, friendly atmosphere and some staff are frankly curt. We knew before time that on Sunday, they didn't serve food past 2:30 - we could work round that but not to serve drinks at a pub past 3:00 on Sundays and past 9pm each night is strange to say the least. It was in the lead up to Christmas too but there was no allowance to that. We would have moved to our room to have a drink but there wasn't a coffee table and chairs to sit at so we'd have been confined to sitting alongside one another on the bed. We got away with overstaying the 9pm 'curfew' downstairs because there was a private party in the function room but as they left we were told that all the lights would be switched off downstairs, when we questioned that, the reply was: you've got 10 minutes until the lights go off. Earlier in the evening, we sat at a table for a drink. The table had a reservation sign for 7:30 so at 5pm with 2.5 hours to go, we felt it was ok to sit there. As we sat chatting and holding hands across the table, one of the staff came over and reached between our hands to set down a napkin and cutlery- no communication or 'excuse me' -we sat there rather stunned at the obvious rudeness. Just leave it awhile or put them on the end of the table. Also, the bedroom we stayed in is tired - wallpaper faded, bathroom tiles and sanitaryware are chipped, and there was hair in the bath. It's also above the kitchen so we were woken by the extractor fan coming on and kitchen noise. The bar also needs a redecoration, compared to the restaurant/lounge area, it's tired with a limited range of beers on draught or bottled. All round a disappointing visit to somewhere we have visited previously and enjoyed. You're in the business of hospitality - your people (with the exception of the breakfast staff) and your rooms need to be more hospitable please.

Generally great, with a few minor issues
Overall great. Friendly staff, comfortable room. Slept well.
Evening meal was disappointing and it was a bit odd that they closed at 9pm.

Quirky building, convenient for my visit.
Good breakfast . Would ask for a bedroom remote from the noisy exhaust fans. Though they do switch off at night.
Noisy fan
