Un ryokan d’un ancien temps marquer par les affres du temps mais qui garde ce charme d’antan.

I LOVE THIS PLACE. Definitely will visit again. The value was far beyond the cost. The staff were amazing—super polite and incredibly helpful. I was especially touched when I woke up in the morning to find my shoes neatly placed at the front door and the snow already cleared off my car. You get to experience many different types of onsen, all private, with beautiful views and spacious, elegant baths entirely to yourself. It truly felt like a once-in-a-lifetime experience. They also provided yukata and a traditional kotatsu, making it a complete Japanese cultural experience in one package. I’ve stayed at several expensive hotels before, but this place offered even better service than some of the luxury hotels I’ve experienced. I felt like a vip during my stay. I’m genuinely amazed.

Nothing at all

100 years old part of hotel is very characterful. The additions have made it quite a maze and it was fun finding the different 5 hot baths The outside rock garden hot spring nestled in the forest was the highlight and very enjoyable listening to the birds and watching the red leaves fall in the light breeze. I went to these baths in the evening and morning they were so relaxing. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

I think tourists should not criticise this old hotel for its condition. Do they want a 100 year old hotel with its quirks of aging or a very expensive renovated new hotel with no character? Of course there were areas of crooked wood and leaking wall but what are you expecting. I saw 5 other hotels bigger than this that were closed down and empty in this onsen village, so sad. This place was hygienically clean and everything worked so please support it and the staff.

Malgré les installations un peu vétustes, la chaleur humaine et la simplicité en ont fait un endroit que je recommande. Petit bémol, le seul endroit pour capter le WiFi était le hall d'accueil. Mais on m'y a fait m'y sentir comme à la maison avec plein de petites attentions. On m'a même proposé un amplificateur de réseau.
