The Lodge at Brambles Farm

The views were stunning.

The hosts just need to be mindful of their language. They seemed to be having a very public argument, screaming/ shouting and swearing whilst we were there which lasted for some time. Not what you expect when you've paid and looking forward to a get away.

Keys were in a lock box and that was easy enough to get to, the long walk from the car park to the place wasn't great with all the bags, so glad we were only there 2 nights. The Cabin was lovely and clean, it had everything you need for a nice get away stay, hot tub was great and well looked after, views were lovely and we even got a bit of sunshine, nice and close to leek and not far from Alton Towers.

It was very regimental, Cameras everywhere and lots of rules to follow, so we didn't feel it was very relaxing during our stay, we did feel slightly on edge as if we were being watched. As a smoker we had thought we'd done the right thing and put used cigarettes in a empty dish that we would have cleaned up after use, however on our later return to the property this was removed, the following day we were approached by two of the hosts advising it was a non smoking site, this ins't clear and after checking the booking.com property policy's within my booking, it wasn't clearly stated this is a non smoking site, as smokers We don't smoke inside our home or our vehicles, there are several signs up within the Cabin saying "no smoking in the premises" I would advise this is made more apparent as people do smoke and shouldn't feel guilty doing so, especially when they don't flick them on the floor but make sure they are disposed of correctly.
