We like it was near the train station and free wifi...less people was great as we are not fond of many crowds...great host and very helpful and checked up on us continuously until we were all checked in and settled.

hot weather..walking alot...i guess these are Japan stuff during summer. still grateful for our trip.

Oji Station is merely a short 5-7 minute walk away. This is a hub for train viewing enthusiasts! Since the station is close, you'll feel a soft rumbling of the tracks from the apartment. Go into the city center and admire all the trains! I liked how easy it was to access the apartment, get the key, and go about my day. Prior to your stay, the host will send you all your travel details, so don't worry! Everything was clearly explained, including how to sort your trash and where to dispose of it. Having a washer was wonderful and going out on the balcony was nice. The sunlight will stream onto the balcony around 9:45AM-10AM, so you need to be prepared to hang your clothes out to dry during that time! If for whatever reason your clothes don't dry, the nearest coin laundry is right across from 7-Eleven by My Basket! You could dry your clothes there for a few 100 yen. My Basket also should have laundry detergent, but you should pack travel sized detergent to be safe. The aesthetic of the apartment was cute and cozy, perfect for a solo traveler like me. There are indoor slippers for you to use inside the apartment (do NOT wear your outdoor shoes into the apartment.) The AC gets really cold which is lovely because I visited during summer. There are bowls, spoons, and chopsticks for you to use if you choose to cook (which you should! My Basket and 7-Eleven are super close). The mini fridge can store frozen AND fridge products, so try and cook tons of tasty food. There is so much to do in Oji (Namco arcade, shrines, Asuka Park, local food, etc). It is the perfect place to return to because the city is quiet, locals are friendly/helpful, and the scenery both natural and manmade is incredibly gorgeous. I stayed for two weeks and left wanting to return back to Oji!

The cleanliness was an issue for me. There is mold on the shower curtain (please replace it). The bowls, stove pan, silverware all had a sticky and greasy residue to them. I had to rewash everything multiple times to ensure it was clean. Honestly, I recommend just grabbing some disposable cutlery from My Basket, Family Mart, or 7-Eleven. The sink sponge left for me to use wasn't brand new. It was a used sponge that was dirty. There were some insects in the apartment (mosquitoes and a spider or two), but I dealt with those quickly. The bathroom does not have good ventilation, so keep the bathroom door open after showering to prevent mold. Speaking of mold/mildew, on days where it rained and I couldn't do laundry outside, I tried using the dehumidifier feature on the AC. I don't think it was particularly effective unfortunately, so plan your laundry days carefully! Finally, the walls are super thin, so I could hear other tenants coming and going often. The stairwell is extremely narrow, a common feature in Japanese apartments, so do not bring large luggage! Thankfully, I only had my carry-on suitcase, but even that was a hassle to get through the staircase.
