Ocean view I

Small and cozy house with an amazing view! Paul do Mar is quiet and charming and Oceanview is a great place to stay to explore the west part of the island. The garage is very convenient to park the car. The owner made sure I had everything I needed. There’s a small grocery store walking distance from the oceanview and some restaurants. It’s a great rental for 1 or 2 people if you rent a car in Madeira and looking for a relaxed vibe. It was a great start to my trip!

I had an amazing stay here and would absolutely come back. The view is truly the highlight. When you open the bedroom’s sliding doors, it feels like the ocean is right there in front of you. It’s one of those places where you just want to sit, relax, and take it all in. I also really appreciated the location. Being farther from Funchal meant it was quiet and felt much more local rather than touristy, which was exactly what I was looking for. I saw some previous comments about the waves being too loud at night and the bathroom sink being small. Personally, neither of these affected my experience. I’m a deep sleeper so the sound of the waves didn’t bother me at all (if anything, it added to the atmosphere), and while the sink is on the smaller side, I simply used the shelves above the toilet for my toiletries without any issue. For me, these are very minor tradeoffs for such a stunning setting and balcony. Lastly, the host was incredibly kind and accommodating. Due to a misunderstanding, I needed a later checkout, and they generously allowed me to stay an extra 1.5 hours and even finish my lunch without any pressure. Overall, I have nothing but good things to say!
