No 15 Riverside Walk Mallard

The area is amazing, on the riverside with wildlife, close to Whitby. Amazing views and fairly quiet. The property is bright and toilet on each floor. and probably big enough for more people if there was a bed settee

The property needed a bit of TLC and a few tweaks with the repairs that are needed. When we arrived one toilet needed flushing and item of clothing was left by previous people still in wardrobe. Blinds in kitchen, pulleys were broke and top floor bathroom blind had no where to clip it to so could not be closed. Baking trays need throwing away and the grill pan and cooker hood were greasy and dirty. Not a place we wanted to cook a dinner. The towels that were left were very scratchy so we paid a visit to the local Sainsburys to get two new softer ones. Toilet seat in second floor bathroom needs replacing and the shower hose over bath on 2nd floor is leaking and the shaving light above sink did not work. Knives in knifeblock were dirty., kettle needed descaling, tin opener did not work and only one suitable saucepan as the other two the coating was coming off (not nice in your dinner) washing machine needed descaling as well as door rubber was black and soap draw was caked with soap powder. Dining room door did not work and a new spindle for the handle is actually in a kitchen cupboard awaiting someone to fix it. If you open fridge door the cupboard next to it opens as hinge on fridge cupboard door needs adjusting. Standard lamp in dining room did not work and the living room would benefit from a room lamp as the other alternative was leaving two bright ceiling lights on in the evening. Cushions on settee not very clean either. Looking at past reviews nothing seems to have changed as everyone mentioning same problems. Shame really as the property could be lovely.

We were very happy with the accommodation this weekend. Really lovely location and very clean. Already discussed a return visit for a few days holiday. Thank you :)

Such a pretty quiet location right under the viaduct. Great for a morning coffee watching the river. Everything we could have needed was at the property. Comfy beds, cosy living area, great shower.

Should have taken my slippers as the tiled floor downstairs was freezing cold (it was December).

Lovely cosy and clean house, great location. Great views of the tidal river. Nice walk in to Whitby along the Cinder trail. Enjoyed using our paddleboard/canoes from in front of house and stopped at friendly pub- Bridge Inn Ruswarp for food and drinks.

Strange layout in the lounge with the two sofas. (TV needs to be in middle of room).
