Our host was phenomenal. So kind and helpful, and made us a delicious breakfasts each morning. She recommended - and made us a reservation at - a restaurant that turned out to be one of our favorites of our whole two-week stay in Japan! And when it rained super hard during the dinner, she walked over with umbrellas for us!

Absolutely nothing. It is in a beautiful, central location, and the beds were super comfortable. And the dog Coco is adorable!

The hostess was very kind and helpful, she went out of her way to accommodate us. The beds were super comfortable and the kids loved the traditional Japanese style. Coco the dog was also lovely :) I definitely recommend staying there.

Hiromi and her dog Coco were the best hosts and opened up their home to us. There is a western style and a Japanese style (tatami) room and both were spotless and beautifully decorated. The breakfasts were amazing and served in a relaxing atmosphere. Hiromi is such a kind person and it was wonderful to get to know her. Coco was simply adorable and we enjoyed his company! Hiromi went above and beyond and drove us to/from the train station, provided helpful tips and made restaurant reservations for us. Her house was located minutes from local attractions such as the morning markets and walking trails. We would highly recommend this wonderful accommodation to anyone looking for an authentic experience and to learn more about Takayama and Japanese culture.
