Applegarth Cottage - Whole House on 5 Acres

Plenty of space and comfortable beds. Lovely property with country views.

Some basic kitchen items missing which I’m sure can be addressed easily. Thin towels.

Instructions were not very clear. We have stayed in many properties and this is the first one where there were virtually no instructions to begin with on how to run and then leave the property. Normally the house manual holds all relevant information. This one did not. There was a welcome document with hardly any information and no exit document what to expect when leaving. No instructions on garbage like where to find the garbage bins. We did find the red and yellow bin but the green bin is missing. Wood fire burner but no way matches to light. Master bedroom has 2 of 3 windows blinds missing meaning that anybody could look in and that side was towards to road. Phone coverage was only at the top of the driveway and on the 2nd afternoon the internet (NBN) started dropping out and eventually overnight disappeared and never came back. We had no internet / wifi which we had been using for our phone coverage, no TV (streaming) and no way of calling out for emergencies or be contacted. We drove into town to email the Host company who then wanted lots of photos of the router which meant us going back to the house. The internet (NBN) never came back for the rst of our stay. The exit document, which we did not know about, was emailed the last night of our stay knowing we had no internet. So having ant knowlwdge of what was needed to carry out before leaving the property was impossible. In our experience we have always had the house rules / manual provided before we arrive. This set up did not work for us at all. Not knowing what was expected we still took out garbage, ran and unpacked the dishwasher etc.
