The bed was extremely comfortable.

This apartment is in a great location, just a 10 minute walk from the beach, lots of bars and restaurants nearby plus a few small shops for essentials. The best part is the view from the balcony, it’s beautiful. It is relatively clean and has most things that you need.

There are a few things I really didn’t like: 1. The check-in process was needlessly stressful. Firstly, they didn’t send any information about check in until I had already arrived in Portugal. I had booked a private transfer with the address advertised only to find (when I was already in the car) that the actual address was different. When I finally arrived I had to go back and forwards 3 times because the owner had provided me with the wrong information to get into the apartment. I tried to call them several times but the phone number they provided does not work, they refuse to speak to you and only communicate via the chat function on Booking. I was getting very frustrated as they were taking a long time to reply and when they did reply they were sending unhelpful responses. In the end I finally found security who helped me to gain access. 2. In the information provided on the day of check in, I was told that I was not to have any guests and that they have a camera to check up on me to see who is coming and going. As a solo female traveller this made me feel very uncomfortable, sure they want to check on their apartment but I am not sure why they need to tell you that there is a camera, seems passive aggressive and intimidating to me. 3. The bed is horribly uncomfortable, the mattress and the pillows are rock solid. I barely slept the whole time I was there and when I did I woke up with back and neck pain. 4. The kitchen only has a two ring hob which takes a long time to heat up. There is a tiny kettle and a toaster. The pans were dirty along with a few other items, that I had to clean before using. 5. It’s on a main road, so it’s super loud all through the night which paired with the horrible bed made sleep difficult. 6. I was there during the power outage, where the apartment also had no access to water during this whole time. Nobody checked to see that everything was ok after the power had come back on. 7.
