Studio Tirana Apartments

This 5-day stay was my first visit to Albania. I had heard so much about the kindness and friendliness of the people before I arrived and this stay confirmed that this was 100% true. Monda, the host, met me at the taxi to make sure I could find the place, then offered to carry my luggage, carefully showed me around the apartment, how to use the espresso machine etc., then gave me her contact info - all with a big welcoming smile. The apartment is basic but very comfortable. The temperatures were very hot my entire stay but the AC did a great job keeping me cool. In the evenings when it cooled off the large patio was a great place to relax. The bed was very comfy and the neighborhood and building is very quiet - I slept great every night. The kitchen and equipment is basic but it had what I needed to make all of my own meals. She provided coffee pods for the espresso machine. It was always easy to contact Monda, her communication was always fast and helpful. It felt like staying at my Nona's place for the week. She is a kind and lovely person and the apartment felt like home. TIP: There is a tiny convenience store only 20 meters walk with water, snacks, and basic groceries. The young lady working there was kind too. She only accepts ALL cash, no Euros, no credit cards. If you're walking to the city for your groceries, get your heavy water bottles here to lighten your load. BONUS! A few of the days Monda brought me homemade treats. First was a rice dish with cinnamon, another time something like a Turkish delight, and another day something like spanikopita. Wow! What a way to start to get to know a new country.

The location was as it is, neither the proprietor or the customer can do anything about it. However the establishment was top drawer.

Nothing, I could live there.

Plenty of room to stretch out and a nice patio to look over the city!

It’s a bit of a walk to the city center. 15 minutes. It’s a gentle hill walking back so it’s not terrible!

What a little hidden gem, absolutely value for money, if anyone says differently then they should be looking at hostels! This place is so quiet which is exactly what we wanted, it’s also very well equipped! The view from this place is also absolutely epic, sadly the utility cables do get in the way but that can’t be helped, if your sat on the amazing terrace then you just blank them out, it’s a pretty special view, especially for the sun set!

This isn’t my dislike as I love walking, the property is a little bit further out than some, however it’s clear on the map, don’t book then complain about the distance!
