overall a good expreience with very clean comfortable room.

The owners were very friendly and took time to explain the surroundings and offer suggestions for hikes and eateries. They also expressed interest in their guests and often asked if we had any needs. The room was dated but very clean and comfortable. Continental breakfast had a lot of variety from yogurt, juice, pastries, cookies and fruit. Sunset and sunrise views were good!

There really wasn't anything we disliked about the place.

Quiet, clean, comfortable, well appointed rooms. Friendly owners are very responsive to requests and ensuring a comfortable stay. Coffee (with half-n-half or non-dairy creamer available), pastries, yogurt, and fresh fruit in the morning. Good price. I will stay here again.

A Truly Welcoming and Convenient Stay at Sleeping Ute Motel. My recent stay at the Sleeping Ute Motel was absolutely delightful, offering incredible value for the price. From the moment I arrived, Joy and her husband, the lovely couple who own the motel, made me feel incredibly welcome. Their deep knowledge of the property and excellent communication skills were truly impressive. As a solo female traveler, I especially appreciated their thoughtful gesture of offering a choice between an upstairs or downstairs room, which went the extra mile in ensuring my comfort and peace of mind. While I didn't get a chance to partake, it was a pleasant surprise to discover they offer breakfast, an amenity that isn't widely advertised but is a wonderful bonus for guests. The motel's location is exceptionally convenient, making trips to Mesa Verde National Park and other local attractions incredibly easy. It's clear that Joy and her husband have taken over a property that was previously neglected and are diligently working on renovations. Despite this, everything in my room was impeccably clean and in perfect working order. Their dedication to improving the motel while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and functionality is truly commendable. I highly recommend the Sleeping Ute Motel for anyone seeking a comfortable, convenient, and genuinely hospitable experience.

Little Gem in Cortez

The place is being renovated, but that had no effect on our stay. We were greeted warmly, the room was super clean and the whole place was quiet. There was a modest breakfast, but we had expected none, so it was a pleasant extra! For the riders among you, cleaning towels are available for the asking. There is a nice picnic area, with grills available for guest use, also. We've spent several nights in Cortez over the years - this was the best, by far!

Very friendly staff, and a very clean room. Evidently recently purchased and needs updating but they are working on it. Very nice folks. I care more about a clean room than whether or not it's updated.

Good value for money OG family run motel

It was a traditional motel with lovely views from the back (especially at sunset) towards Sleeping Ute Mountain. They are updating the rooms but keeping the traditional look rather than going for an homogeneous modern look. The owners were incredibly helpful and friendly.

Some of the facilities still need updating.

Supernette Besitzer, bezauberndes nostalgisches Motel , bequeme Betten mit Tagesdecken über das ganze Bett gezogen. Während andere Motelzimmer eisgeküht waren, hier eine angenehme Temperatur. Bestes Motel während einer 3 Wochen Tour.

Wir würden wieder dort übernachten.

Sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Paar, welches das Motel erst übernommen haben und gerade renovieren. Zimmer und Badezimmer waren sehr sauber, die Betten waren sehr bequem. Wir bekamen dort das bisher mit Abstand beste Frühstück in den USA. Wir baten um ein hot breakfast und bekamen: Hash-browns, Rühreier, Spiegeleier “over easy”, Würstchen, Bacon, Pfannenkuchen, verschiedene Kuchen, Brownies, frisches Obst, verschiedene Säfte, etc….

Das gesamte Anwesen ist nicht sehr einladend. Wird jedoch laut Aussage der Betreiber renoviert.

Das Zimmer ist gut gelegen und das Personal sehr freundlich, hat uns gute Tips gegeben fürs Frühstück. Gut gelegen für einen Ausflug nach Mesa Verde oder das Monument Valley, das Zimmer war sauber und gemütlich
