We stayed in several newly renovated older properties on our grand circle tour of the national parks. This one was the nicest and the best value for money. The room was spacious and clean with good TV, coffeemaker, microwave, fridge, plenty of sockets, nice bath. We liked the clubhouse game room. Other guests enjoyed the fenced in dog run. Breakfast was included.

We didn't know what to expect when making the reservation at the Retro Inn. It turned out to be quite a surprise when we arrived. We stayed in the 1978 room as all the rooms decor is based on that year. I guess we were expecting more than just movie posters in the room from 1978 (Blazing Saddles, Rocky). The room was clean and comfortable and the small table and chairs outside the room were a nice touch. The outdoor area had a large bench swing, giant chess set and Elvis statue on a bench. Inside there was a game room, laundry and ice machine. The breakfast area was like a 1960's drive in diner with colorful booths/benches. The breakfast was good but not overly abundant with choices. The hotel must be family owned as one of the grandsons was in the staff chair when we checked out. We would definitely stay there again.
