The Kala

The hotel had a delicious food, both the complimentary breakfast and dinner. The staff was very nice and helpful. The hotel has a cosy swimming pool, from where we enjoyed a stunning view on the bay. It was very convenient to receive a phone to communicate with the reception, order food, etc.

The hotel could have been maintained better: the swimming pool had missing tiles, missing lights, the windows were not clean enough.

We absolutely loved this hotel! It’s the perfect place for anyone looking for a peaceful, private retreat away from the crowds. The atmosphere is incredibly relaxing, the facilities are beautiful, and the entire experience feels very special. The breakfast was absolutely amazing, definitely one of the highlights of our stay. Everything about the hotel is designed for guests who want to unwind, enjoy their privacy and simply relax. A fantastic place to disconnect and enjoy some peace and quiet.

The only real downside is the location. Although it’s perfect for privacy and relaxation, it’s not convenient if you want to explore Koh Samui. There’s practically nowhere you can walk to, so you need to rely on Grab, taxis or private transfers every time you want to leave the hotel. This can become quite inconvenient and expensive, especially if you plan to go out frequently. It’s definitely a hotel where you’ll want to spend most of your time enjoying the property rather than using it as a base to explore the island. Something worth considering before booking, depending on the type of holiday you’re looking for.

Staff very sweet and helpful Hotel is superb spa is a must. Yoga classes were great and fabulous view

Nice views. Buffet breakfast, yoga and massage excellent. Food and drinks excellent.

Older hotel. Needs some upgrading in central areas. Good for one or 2 nights if you book the room with plunge pool otherwise the main pool is crowded with limited chairs and coverage. Mosquitoes are a problem here. Nowhere to swim in ocean. Nearest Beach loaded with rocks and reef. You cannot swim in the ocean from the hotel. Very dangerous rocks and coral. Nearest beach with good swimming you need to take a taxi then sit in the beach with a towel. No ocean access. Pool small but nice. Too much climbing up stairs. Definitely a place for younger guests or short stays. Rooms small with ok views and nowhere to put your stuff.
