Riad Kasbah

Issam estuvo en permanente comunicación a través de WhatsApp preocupado por ayudarnos o interesarse de cómo estaba todo. El patio del Riad es precioso, es un sitio tranquilo y cuenta con terraza común. Sin duda, su ubicación durante el día para visitar los puestos de comercio, la kasbah de los Oudayas y los jardines de Andalucía es de lo mejor. Aunque por la noche la Medina es diferente. Si buscas conocer Rabat más turístico o cómodo puede que sea mejor que busques otra zona, pero si buscas ver la auténtica Rabat y como viven los locales esta es tu opción.

El Riad es muy bonito pero en general podría estar más limpio y ordenado. La habitación era grande y no es que estuviera sucia, pero no esperes la limpieza impoluta que habría en un hotel. Al final, es un Riad en el centro de la medina de Rabat y si buscas la experiencia de quedarte en una casa típica marroquí (como era nuestra idea) el alojamiento está bien y cumple, pero si buscas algo más parecido a un hotel quizá no es tu lugar. El baño era decente aunque sin alardes, nosotros nos compramos jabones, repuesto de papel, no hay secador... Por otra parte, la ubicación es genial durante el día, pero ten en cuenta que por la noche la medina está oscura y poco concurrida, con calles estrechas y puede que a algunas personas no les inspire tranquilidad o confianza, aunque a nosotros no nos pasó nada y la gente nos trató genial en Marruecos.

The riad could not be more perfectly located, in a quiet street which is two minutes walk from the heart of the souqs and medina. It truly felt like a characterful home. I was able to prepare some simple meals and come and go often during the days. The housekeeper and neighbour are delightful. The manager is very helpful. Next time I would like to stay longer than a week :)

Location good, but difficult to find - due to how the address is written in the booking, even local.people who tried to help us, didn't understand the street name the way it was written.

It is a traditional riad but it is very scruffy and in need of a major refresh. There was no hot water when we arrived as the gas had run out and it took till 11am the next day to be replaced. The lower floor bathroom is so tiny there is nowhere to put towel, clothes or toiletries. It is adjacent to the kitchen and the only window is tiny and opens onto the lounge area. The upper floors are only accessible by a very tight steep staircase. The whole place needs a good clean, quite dusty and the kitchen area is very dark with a very ineffective light. Dishes were left to drain on the sink and the same grubby towel was left in the kitchen from our first stay to our second stay a week later. The roof area is also untidy and often taken over by washing hanging on the line.
