About this cottage rental
Brita Cottage is situated in a lotissement of 17 houses within the cul de sac, so no through traffic passing the cottage. It has a large fenced off garden that includes a patio. The patio includes a pergola mounted on decking to provide shelter over the table and chairs for al fresco dining.
There are 3 double and 1 twin bedroom. Upstairs there are 2 double and one twin bedroom with a family bathroom. Downstairs there is a small double bedroom with a shower room and toilet next to it. Possibly more suitable for guests with mobility issues.
Amenities include TV with Sky free-to-air channels plus French TV and internet access via Orange, DVD player and a mini HiFi. The kitchen includes a ceramic hob with extractor, electric oven, dishwasher, microwave oven, electric kettle, extensive kichen pots, pans and cutlery. There is a laundry section at the rear of the garage with a washing machine, clothes dryer, sink and various other things - clothes airer, toys and games, dart board, two bicycles, etc.
The centre of Rochefor en Terre is about 1/2 mile away and easily walked. There are several car parks in the village (requiring 3 euro payment). There is a lake (Etang de Moulin Neuf) that you can walk to down a path through the woods that is immediately next to our lotissement. There is also a very large free car park at the lake. There are various activities at the lake including a cross lake zip wire (for the brave) and boat and quad bike hire.
One of the best aspects of Brita cottage is its location in Southern Britanny with many places that are great to visit. The coast is 19 miles to the south where there are several beaches and coves including the seaside resort town of Damgan. Visits that you may like include Branfere zoo (18 kilometres/12 miles 17 minute drive shown on Google Maps), Tropical Park with large aviaries, dinasaur models, beautiful grounds and a brilliant Haloween display with goulles that move and speak as you approach them (presumably only displayed around halaween time).
Some of the main towns that are worth a visit include Damgan resort and beach (include Kervoyal and Pen Lan beaches), Port St Goustan (part of Auray), Vannes, Carnac, La Trinite sur Mer, Quiberon peninsula (Cote Sauvage with magnificent cliffs), La Roche Bernard, Malestroit, La Baule, Guerande and Le Croisic.
