The Padre Motel

We really enjoyed staying at the Padre Motel. Located in the center of Escalante, in walking distance to some good places to eat & drink. Motel is run by a family and they were super nice and helpful. It’s not a luxury place to stay, but it had everything we needed (e.g. Nespresso coffee maker, smart TV, very comfortable mattress, AC).

Friendly proprietor, two bedroom unit, excellent coffee machine in room, big, comfortable beds.

Firehose shower, small “LR,” BR pocket door difficult to open and close without waking everyone else.

The room was surprisingly updated and fresh. The bed was comfortable. The room has been updated nicely.

The place looked like it was deserted when I first showed up. I actually drove around for a while thinking I was at the wrong address. The property looked like it hadn't had any attention in quite some time. There were no vehicles in the parking lot and I thought i must have the wrong address. After I verified, I went into the front office (which is the little rundown house next door) The front office looks like it was last updated in 1974. The grass was overgrown and there looks to be an old junk vehicle at the house/office. The gentleman that checked me in was super friendly, but didn't look very professional in his dirty t-shirt and shorts. I'm sorry to say that about the man, because he was very nice.
