Valea Verde Retreat Transilvania

Amazing location, wonderful garden and village.

It’s lovely but we got a week when there was a conference so the kitchen was a bit stretched and the food was not as good as it had been last time we stayed. But we will still come back.

Valea Verde lies in a very tranquil setting on the outskirts of a pretty village. The hosts went out of their way to make me feel welcome. In addtion to the main house and gardens - the owners have also transformed other properties in the village into additonal guest accomodation. There is an award wining resturant at the main site serviving exceptional food and accompanied by local wines. Plus they have a bar stocked with spirits for long drinks and cocktails. In terms of activites on offer, there were some very unique offerings like truffle hunting and soap making. The property has lots of additional facilties on site for both for families and solo travellers. Particually in their extensive and very well kept gardens. Locals are very involved in the upkeep and maintainance of the estate, which adds a degree of authenticy and intimacy to the stay. It is also an ideal venue for both retreats, wedding receptions or even corporate events like conferences. There are even mountain bikes at the property which the guests can use to explore the local countryside.

Brilliant concept and layout and atmosphere. Very relaxing and well maintained. Excellent food too.

Over hyped dusty derelict village without much to see or do. Marketing images all of forests - no forests near! Village accommodations substandard and no amenities, and restaurant is a long hot walk away
