Located in the heart of Sulmona's historic centre — a beautifully preserved town in the Abruzzo mountains, rich in culture, food, and tradition, and well worth discovering off the beaten path. The rooms are generously spacious, giving the apartment a comfortable and unhurried feel throughout — with the exception of the kitchen, which is notably compact by comparison. The bedroom is impressively dark, making for excellent sleep conditions at any hour — a real advantage for those sensitive to light. The apartment is spotlessly clean on arrival and throughout the stay. Having both a washing machine and a dishwasher is a genuine comfort, particularly for longer stays. Detergent for both machines is provided — a thoughtful and practical touch. The host communicates with care and attentiveness, ensuring guests feel welcomed and well informed from the outset. The apartment is well equipped with a full kitchen, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and television. Free public street parking is available directly in front of the building, but availability is not guaranteed. On a Saturday evening we had some difficulty finding a space — something worth planning for, particularly on weekends or during busier periods.

The corridors and stairwells leading to the apartment are in poor condition and clearly lacking maintenance — they create a distinctly unfavourable first impression on arrival that the apartment itself, once inside, does not deserve. The bed, while adequate in size, has a spring mattress that moves with any shift in position — not ideal for lighter sleepers or couples. A more stable sleeping surface would be a meaningful upgrade. The absence of wine glasses in an Italian apartment is a curious and somewhat telling omission. It is the kind of detail that matters when you are sitting down to a local Abruzzo wine after a day exploring the town. A toaster and a microwave are noticeably absent from the kitchen. Both are everyday essentials for self-catering guests and would be simple but welcome additions. Also, a coffee machine would be nice. The property requires climbing stairs to reach — worth bearing in mind for guests with heavy luggage or reduced mobility. Check-in is between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM, and checkout is before 10:00 AM — the time window is relatively narrow and should be factored into travel plans.

We would have like a few more lamps and plates/glasses/cutlery and also a couple of side tables or a coffee table in the sitting room

Charming period building with spacious apartment. Felt like a blend of France and Italy. Location is phenomenal. Building is adjacent to the gates of the old city, but has easy access by car and a free municipal parking lot across the road. walking up to the main attractions in the city only takes 2 minutes and there are a ton of good restaurants there.

Older original building, so there are 2 flights of stairs to climb. On a main road so it is a little noisy during the day with the windows open. Apartment is air conditioned, so it is not necessary to open the windows.
