As a foreigner this was my first time staying in a non-touristy location and the neighborhood is really lovely. For being so close to Bangkok it really had more of a small town feel that I enjoyed. The host family is great. Very welcoming and accommodating. Any issue I had was resolved in minutes regardless of the time of day or night.
The only negative I experienced was a manhole cover right outside the property door. Every time a car drove over it there was a loud banging noise. It took a few days to ignore but that was the only let-down I experienced.
