Balcombe Retreat, Family Escape with Sea Views

Our hosts put the effort to add some lovely finishing touches to make our pre- and post-wedding accommodation stay all the more comfortable! Plenty of rooms, bathrooms and parking for the whole bridal party staying with us, comfy and lived in living spaces made this feel like a proper home (not just a basic hotel). The pantry was stocked with non-perishable staples (and not just the basics!), so even though we brought our own food, it was good to know if we needed something in a pinch, it was probably there! There was also a washing machine and dryer, which was very much appreciated by our interstate friends who were able to freshen everything up before heading out on the next leg of their journey.

The master bedroom on the top floor has no door or screen for privacy down to the landing below. We made do by draping one of the (provided) dressing gowns over a portable clothes rack, but given that there is a bedroom AND a window with no curtain/shutters on the landing below, a more intentional privacy curtain or folding screen at the top of the stairs would have been welcome. And though I certainly cannot blame the weather on the property, the heavy winds straight off the beach were VERY loud for those sleeping on the top floor.

The hosts were amazing, the little touches and the details they put together elevated it beyond comparison. We stayed in the house as part of our wedding weekend and we could not have picked a better place it was simply perfect and we are so grateful
