The Farmhouse is situated in the most breathtaking spot, remote and beautiful the perfect balm for the soul. Surrounded by fells with stunning views from every window, the terraced garden is a dream.

We loved Hallinbank for our family get together. Staying here feels like you're being given a hug by the Lake District fells: drinking tea in the morning sitting on the stone steps outside the back door, with the sound of the river rushing past at the bottom of the valley. Walking across the fields down to the secluded beach for paddleboarding and swimming on Ullswater. Climbing nearby Hallin Fell for spectacular views up and down Ullswater. Getting the steamer from Howtown pier to explore Glenridding and Pooley Bridge. We had all the weather the Lakes could offer and loved every minute of our stay, returning to the comfort of Hallin Bank after exploring felt very special.

We loved it all, but it's worth being aware that planning in advance for food and supplies is a good idea. The road from Pooley Bridge to Howtown is single track, from Howtown to Martindale across the cattlegrid goes up a few tight hairpins, so popping out for a pint of milk isn't really on the agenda when you stay here!

Stunning location. Great views and horses in field next door. Lots of local hikes. Feel almost off grid but has all the home comforts. Wi-Fi only works in a few rooms in hiuse and phones don’t work unless using data. Great value for money. Would definitely recommend!

tv outdated. wifi was terrible for phone calls. had to contact the owner and ask for a different wifi to connect to.
