The cleanliness upon check-in was top notch! My cousin from Long Beach, MS lent me a black light flash light and told me to check the place out in the dark, particularly the bed for undesirable bed critters. You guys passed the test with flying colors! The unit was well sprayed down with a pleasant smelling air freshener upon arrival.
Check-in is at 4pm & it gets dark on the Gulf Coast at around 5-7pm. I flew in at 5pm, went grocery shopping, & then checked in. It was dark. 28th Street doesn’t have much city-provided street lighting. The cabana is the property’s former shed & is set at the back end of the property. Some lights are kept on in the property’s other rental unit, the property’s former home/primary residence. Upon checking in, I refused to trespass on the property w/o verification that I was in the right place, because it appeared as though the entire property was someone else’s home w/the lights left on in the house. I recommend installing a street light somewhere on the grounds, maybe at the back end of the driveway by the fence line to illuminate the property & make guests feel welcome when they check-in after dark.
Upon arrival, I made a bee-line for the fridge/freezer with my groceries, which was set to a 9 setting. The freezer & fridge were filled w/caked up ice. I turned the setting down to a 3/4. Checking the dial to ensure proper setting might be a recommendable addition to the cleaning list between guests.
Again, upon arrival, the coffee maker, stove, and microwave clocks were set to different times, about two hours apart. I took the time to reset all of the clocks. Checking/resetting these during cleanings may help keep guests from feeling disoriented upon arrival.
K-Cups were present, but no Keurig machine. Prior guest reported it broken. Please remember to replace. I initially thought prior guest had stolen the machine.
The bathroom sink clogs up quickly & is slow to drain. The same goes for the shower floor drain. I recommend having the bathroom lines snaked for future guests. I used the kitchen sink for everything, including washing dishes, shaving, washing my hair before bed at night, and brushing my teeth.
