La gentillesse à l'accueil. Gâteau et vin de bienvenue. L endroit est impeccable, propre, très calme, très bien situé. Un grand appartement très bien équipé. Je recommande chaleureusement

First - the host. Andre is the kindest, most laid-back guy. He gave us a grand tour & showed us everything & anything we would need to know. He has local maps and pamphlets you can use & gave us lots of great recommendations. He was available at all times and very responsive. Even gave us a very generous welcome gift! There was also clear instructions on how to use all of the appliances if needed & basic information about the property. The apartment - WAY more spacious than it looks. Square footage might give a better idea, but this place is HUGE. We were shocked, and absolutely loved it. Very clean. Fresh & very soft linens - also LOTS of them! Kitchen had everything you could possibly need, brand new state-of-the-art appliances, and some basic kitchen supplies which is such a wonderful touch for foreign travelers such as ourselves. Even laundry & cleaning supplies, an umbrella, clothes drying rack, shopping bags - everything you could think of was there for you! Parking space in the garage was plenty big for our mid-size SUV and it was an easy 10 second walk to get to the apartment from the spot. Great wifi, large tv with Netflix access. 2 large patios to relax on with lots of sunlight beaming in! Blackout curtains for the mornings you want to sleep in or nights you want to go to bed early! (Great when travelling with a baby/toddler.) There is a very clean & quiet pool outside, however only 2 loungers and all of the apartment balconies look down over the pool. Great restaurant next door and close to supermarkets, pharmacies, everything you could need. Quick 12 minute drive from airport & only about 15-20 minutes to downtown Funchal. Short 8-10 minute walk down to the water but you can see the sunset from the balcony/terrace so you don't even need to go down there! We travelled the entire island with this apartment as our hub and it was the most peaceful place to come back to!

The only negative things were that there was a lot of hair in the bathroom, in the shower & on the floor. The floors throughout were also not as clean as they looked (we have a crawling toddler who got dirty very quickly). It pains me to say anything negative though, because it was such an amazing spot, more spacious than it looks and the host was phenomenal. Not negative but suggestions would be a bigger ice cube tray (or two). And perhaps a table & chairs at the back of the sun room attached to the kitchen. We felt we couldn't enjoy that space how we had hoped, however it was a great place to open up our luggage as I didn't feel like unpacking into the large closets, but also didn't want to open up my suitcase each time I needed something.
